GregPz September 27th, 2007, 11:59 AM Looks nice. Strange to think that until bout a decade ago this town used to be part of South Africa - like an island in the middle of another country!
All those seals and flamingos on the beach look amazing!
Tarrex September 28th, 2007, 04:11 PM Namibian cities are just great. Same standard on all cities, that's how it should be.
stoicman31 September 28th, 2007, 06:00 PM Namibia is one of the countries I would love to visit in my lifetime. Their cities are just amazing.
StormShadow September 28th, 2007, 09:20 PM Good pics. Although I know how hard it is to get a lot of recent images of Walvis Bay, small city. I have a Windhoek, Luderitz and Swakopmund thread on this African section also.

hsark January 6th, 2008, 04:24 PM wow its been ages since ive been 2 that part of the world used to live in windhoek bt walvis was the holiday spot for the masses
ps: yes im one of those people who consider swakopmund and walvis bay as one city as the open space between them is closing up really quickly
StormShadow January 7th, 2008, 02:12 AM I find Namibia interesting and attractive.
Hsark, what's the timing between Swakopmund and Walvis Bay by land vehicle ? Are both centers 30 minutes away from each other ?

Francisco rj October 31st, 2008, 06:21 AM it seems this has a very low density of people..empty streets, empty "many things"..but, somehow that´s good to the inhabittants and local animals: native or that show up in certain seasons..changing the subject, beautiful picture of the seals´crowd..wonderful. congratulations for the thread.

It was until 28th of february 1994. Haven't been there yet, been to Swakopmund though and have seen Walvis Bay from afar. Nice pictures in the thread though, seems like a nice town.
Diggerdog September 28th, 2011, 05:30 AM Namibia is one of the worlds least populated countries - along with Botswana and I think Canada.
It is seriously one of the most underrated countries anywhere - the namib desert is staggeringly beautiful - the huge golden dune-mountains right on the coast, the Grand-canyon-sized Fish River Canyon...the Brandberg (a nearly 10 000ft high circular plug of Granite towering straight from the desert floor like a fang)...
Not too mention Swakopmund and Windhoek, Etosha pan, the far north where the Kunene, Okavango and Zambezi rivers all flow.
alama September 28th, 2011, 08:01 AM I wouldn't mind have an house there.
