The Fidelity National Bank Building (Federal Office Building) in Kansas City, MO is located at 909 Walnut (formally 911 Walnut)
It is being converted to highrise apartments, it will become the tallest residential building west of the mississippi and east of Denver. Texas is the only state w/ a taller residential building.
Construction: 1930-1931
Floors: 35
Style: Art Deco
Height: 143.5m (471ft)
Architect: Hoit, Price and Barnes

I don't really like the building... It looks like two towers fused together, and if you compare it to the surrounding buildings, it just doesn't have the presence. It looks odd and wrong. Some of the outside details are sort of nice though..... I'll be merciful and give it a four.

I bet most people don't think of imposing art deco masterpieces like this when they think of Kansas City... but KC is overflowing with these great old wonders!


This building is spectacularly beautiful and has a wonderful top!
