Why will they 'have' to buy it, there is no guarantee (wembley,twickenham,millennium,real madrid etc etc) that lights give a good surface. Better you find a pitch manager who knows what he is doing within such an environment that will be used for multi use in the Turkish climate. Like i said previously in this thread bad pitch bad management same old mistakes but lovely stadium, same old same old and stupid comments from forumers who know nothing about stadium grass.

I have a better idea, why not pay a reasonable salary to an expert pitch manager (rather than local farmer idiot as is per norm or corrupt contractor as is also norm) instead of paying the weekly wage of some crappy layabout footballer number 30 in the squad on a squillion pounds a week, now thats a f%$££$ good idea 4 u!

Also LED Panels will be installed next to the pitch and between first and second tier.Also two videoboards will be installed on each side of the roof.


In May 2011 they will install the rectable roof,so the stadium will be full closed.

the reason why grass is green is because grass and other plants absorb red and blue light from the white light they receive from the sun and emit GREEN light... which we see with our eyes. grass needs at least a healthy exposure to WHITE LIGHT from the sun or artificial white light daily because The absorbed light is used in photosynthesis which inturn gives the plant the energy it needs to live and grow. so it is PROVEN that exposure to light is key to growth in plants.

climate is one of the smallest factors in growth of a plant because as long the water content in the grass is not frozen it will function just fine... also other reasons that make grass fields unusable is overuse, not enough nitrogen in the soil, and inadequate water.

and if u ask a pitch manager, he will tell you the same things. i think in this stadium artificial lighting is needed for the grass to grow.

Now that you know that, which fair enough you didnt before can you see what your reply looks like to me?

Perhaps you would like to 'enlighten' us at to why the pitches i mentioned plus others failed despite having artificial lighting?

Being a Galatasaray supporter, don't you think that the stadium could be a bit taller and more... let's say... closed?

Of course everbody prefers a "box". No open space between roof and stands, but on the other hand we need an air circulation -> good picth
Because of the 2 suit levels the only available open space for fresh air is between stand and roof.
For example at Allinaz Arena its between 1st and 2nd tier.

IMO its quite a tall stadium. Because of the roof stands do not look so high, but max. height is over 36m

haha! I didn't doubt it would be green! Why I don't like turf being laid like this is that it is much tougher for the grass to bed in deeply, and it is more likely to cut up, like Wembley for example.

However, given that the pitch is being laid a few months in advance of the first game, it might last and stay in much better condition. I would certainly hope so as a neutral. Although it will be difficult I imagine to grow it much in this period approaching winter.

Still think that yellow is needed in the colour scheme, perhaps the stairs being painted yellow would actually look quite good.

what impresses me very much is the fact that the sidelines are really close to the stands, similar to the distance of older British grounds like Anfield....and very similar to Fb's stadium I guess...This will be a very hot atmosphere arena!

very ugly stadium... from outside it looks like the roads and inside ..very bad seating constellation + cheap materials.. room-roofs etc.

^ I disagree on the inside. I think the inside is quite nice. I do agree that the facade could have been better, but that's not what's gonna make the stadium money. As for construction material, well Turkey is a bit famous for the low quality of the materials, I hope in the future they don't show too much wear immediately.

The stadium obviously has a very 'contractor' feel about it at the moment everything is finished as per specification with little or no personal touches even the pitch is typical contactor mode alll ready to be handed over hopefully to Galatasaray people who will give it a club feel and the club touch, a few logos here and there maybe player murals that sort of thing at the moment its totally standard but that will change i am sure.

i dont understand why fenerbahce fans keep on saying the government lost money making this stadium... that has to be the biggest conspiracy theory in turkey at the moment :). first off why would the government care about galatasaray... if it didnt benefit the government why would they start this project... obviously its a win, win situation for both the club and the government. The Fenerbahce Stadium was the best when it was built.But now the turn is on Galatasaray.

Fener´s stadium is assymetric and looking old compared to TT Arena.I mean the corners are very bad and the tiers behind the goals are smaller than the other tiers.They fill the gap with huge banners.Also the roof construction is nothing special.

i feel like most of our players dont realize the magnitude of our club and i think if they had a training session here before they played their first game it would have a great impact on them. i hope that this stadium will bring the respect that the club deserves from these players, to be honest if it was up to me i would only keep 7 or 8 of our players and go to a complete overhaul with A2 players, young turks, and a 2 or 3 quality foreigners.

Not among the best from outside because the outside design is too industrial in my opinion but from inside Istanbul becomes a really nice and impressing Soccer Stadium.

i dont think its hagis fault... we have horrible players, personally iwould only keep 4 - 5 players on the current team and change everyone else...

I agree with you. This stadium is the newst but the uglies of Istanbul. Stupid elements come together and a monster apeared. Roof is the worst I have ever seen. facade is cheap and no meaning.

I think it would of looked better...if not all concrete then at least the steps... now it looks too empty

maybe i am a little bit optimistic but i'm still waiting to cover around V columns part with a glass facede. the workmanship looks awful in that part of the arena.
