Once upon a time......
We are in the year 1928,Cyprus is an underdeveloped colony of the vast british empire.
A british photographer,Maynard Owen Williams ,visits the island,takes some pics and they are published in national geographic in the July 1928 issue
Nothing from these pics reminds to anyone the Cyprus of today.
But not only Cyprus of today but not even Cyprus of the 1960`s,where the 12stories hotels started to dominate Famagusta`s skyline and Nicosia had the best airport in eastern mediterranean and middle east.
And all this happened in just 3 decades,a complete transformation,two different worlds.....

These photos by the way all seem to be from Famagusta and the suburbs.

the pics are mainly from nicosia,famagusta and mesaoria
