Hey guys, I just saw this website on KTLA and CNN about idiotic LA drivers called lacantdrive.com and it is both hilarious and informative. People can submit photos and horror stories about asshole drivers they've encountered on the streets of Los Angeles. Do you have one?

That's such a misconception of Angelinos drivers. We all know we get an A on our driving skills, except when it sprinkles. So other than that we rock as drivers!!!!!

Besides we all know the bad drivers our those L.A. newbies from out of state. They think that their driving on those 2 way highways dodging cows, chupacabras and road kill.

I've driven in a lot of big American cities, LA, New York, DC, San Francisco, etc., but to be fair, every big city has idiot drivers like that, it's just more concentrated in LA, especially the closer you get to the heart of the city; in areas like Hollywood and Koreatown is when the idiot meter rises substantially. Not just drivers, pedestrians as well.

Having grown up in DC/Baltimore, I have to say that LA drivers and pedestrians are much better than those you find in other places. When I visited LA for the first time, I was amazed at how pedestrians actually waited for the walk signal to go on before crossing the street. They would just stand there and push that button until the walk signal finally came on. Anyone who's been to the East Coast knows that jaywalking (even when cars are still coming at full speed) is a way of life here. Most act like that button isn't even there. Walk signals are only used by tourists or at streets where traffic is very heavy.

And LA drivers aren't nearly as aggressive as the ones you'll find in the Boston-DC corridor. When an ambulance flies down the street with its sirens on, I've witnessed LA drivers quickly moving over to the side. I've seen drivers in DC and Baltimore trying to outrun the ambulance.

To be honest, I'm originally from the San Francisco Bay Area (Silicon Valley to be precise) and most of the asshole driving there was on the freeway (pricks weaving in and out at 90 mph+) but in L.A., while I hardly see prick drivers on the freeways, everything else is worse. I've seen everything from people do extreme last minute lane switching after lanes split, to even jumping grades on the freeway (once), to illegal u-turns, to making u-turns in the freeway when the freeway is severely jammed (only saw it once, was amazing.)

Its not just that L.A. drivers are bad drivers, its they are impatient and aggressive.

I would consider LA drivers very impatient. SF drivers reckless. Harrisburg drivers are pretty polite and mostly stay in the slow lane.

Where would you rate NY drivers (especially cabs);)

I edited out my comments because I feared they might be taken as inflammatory.

All I can say is, LA drivers spoiled. The mere fact that you think LA drivers are that bad says it all. Spend a few months on the rotaries in Boston and you'll know what real bad drivers are all about.

West coast can't even touch the east coast in terms of a-hole drivers.

to be fair, the guy who created that website is a transplanted New Yorker, or so he says; and to be further fair, he does say he likes LA, just not the asshole drivers

How about IE can't drive? You go on the freeway there and every lane goes the same speed: 60 mph. It's annoying and ridiculous.
