hehe.......I took the camera out but at that time I using film so I find wasting if I take any picture so in the end din take! But I could have done so as I've already had the camera in my hand ;) (and it is an SLR camera...not the small small camera...hehe)

no prob lar! ;) .........all come also can tumpang.......so far Hypermount and Huaiwei have stayed at my place and they are still alive....:D :D :D

BTS would definitely open by then :D For the best tour.....I would recommend a weekend tour......(I always do...hhehe :D)

It would be best if you come down to KL in the afternoon......and stay till Monday morning. I would pick ya up from KLCC (where I work) on Friday and drop ya off at KLCC also on MOnday morning. You can take LRT to go to Puduraya or Sentral to and from KLCC. ;) Try reaching KLCC at 5:00pm on Friday :)

That's my standard recommendation. Should ya want to extend your stay.......you can always come on Wednesday or Thursday but during my working hours, you'll have to be on your own ;)

But the twin towers looks nicer in those pictures because these are the new lightings. The lightings are installed back in August last year! ;)

Condo with view of KL towers? Yours for $5.4m

Luxury housing projects are in vogue in the city centre to meet demand fuelledby strong economy and stock market

AT LEAST seven luxury condominiums are coming up in the shadow of the Petronas Twin Towers to fill up the last few big residential plots in the city centre. But only the rich will be excited.

A penthouse in one of these super-condos will cost RM12 million (S$5.4 million), a new benchmark for high-rise living in Malaysia.

Apart from studio units in one project costing around RM500,000, the rest will cost more than RM1 million each - easily a 20 per cent premium over prices in other prime areas of Kuala Lumpur and Petaling Jaya.

The smallest units are 140sq m (1,500 sq ft). The one costing RM12 million is for a 1,400-sq-m (15,000-sq-ft) penthouse in a 168-unit project planned by KLCC Holdings.

'Our units are big because we want low density to give that feeling of exclusivity,' said Miss Leong Swee Han, chief operating officer of Beneton Properties, which is building Stonor Park condominium.

Its two 20-storey blocks have only 71 units, with each floor housing two apartments.

To attract the well-heeled, developers are offering private lift lobbies, jacuzzis, saunas, a garden in the sky and even a room for drivers to rest.

The main selling point is a view of the world's tallest twin towers and the greenery of the 20-ha park adjoining the Kuala Lumpur City Centre (KLCC).

Demand is hot, as gauged by strong sales of the two projects on the market. An address near the KLCC is a sign that one has arrived.

Most of the buyers are locals along with some foreigners, including Singaporeans.

'It's a matter of lifestyle and convenience. People want to be able to enjoy city night life and not have to fight through traffic from the suburbs in the morning,' said Miss Lim Lay Ying, managing director of real estate consultancy Research Inc (Asia).

'There is also pent-up demand as supply has been limited.' There are only a handful of such condos within walking distance of the KLCC now.

Executives of Beneton's Stonor Park and Beverly Tower Development's 278-unit Marc Service Residence said they had both sold 90 per cent of their apartments.

For the 35-storey Marc - the only one with studio units - sales were done without advertising, and a second block is already being planned.

'We didn't do any official launch or take up any ads. Everything was through word of mouth and referrals,' said Beverly's sales and marketing director Wendy Tang.

The sold-out list includes 16 units measuring 270sq m (2,900sq ft) and costing RM2.2 million each.

The simultaneous building or planned launches of at least seven high-end residential projects around the KLCC are not surprising. Developers are meeting the demand fuelled by the strong economy and rallying stock market.

Construction of the RM550 million Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre as part of the KLCC is another major pull. The convention centre will be ready next year.

'With the KLCC so near, it should be easy to attract buyers, including expats, although the projects are coming up together,' said an executive with Glomac Bhd, which will launch its two-block tower on 0.8ha of land next year.

hahaha......I happen to have dropped by at Dua Residency......the cheapest unit costs 1.2 million and the smallest size is like 2,100 sq ft......more stories on this later! :rant:

They are really big for that size man!In Melbourne the prices are like+_+. A 2 bedroom apartment with the size of 70sqm cost RM1.2 million!+_+ And Eureka...cough cough...for the size of 75sqm at level 20++ is RM1.6 million la!

Latest news... a new tower will be build on KLCC lot C - in the corner between Mandarin Oriental and Suria. And it is a 50-storey high tower with 6-storeys of shopping mall.... Ahhh.... heaven!

Sorry guys. I read it on Petronas internal server. The news will be out very soon in the local newspaper. So stay tuned.

For the meantime, following are the gists:

1) The new 6-storey shopping mall will be interconneted with the existing mall,
2) The new tower will add 4300 sq m office space,
3) KLCC Property has another plot of land, called Lot D1 (directly in front of Mandarin Oriental) which will be developed after Lot C.
4) There are 9 more vacant lots in the KLCC area which will be developed into commercial properties.

So, you guys can expect another 10 highrises....

There are no observation floor on the top floors of the towers is simply because these towers are designed primarily as office buildings. Furthermore KL Tower which is just a short distance away had already got an observation floor which could make this redundant.

The only public space in these building is perhaps the lower level of the skybridge. Even that is accidental and only opened to the public after much fuss :D But now it had become a permanent observation platform. The experience from the bridge is very unique as it is suspended in between the towers and it gives a much different perspective had the observation platform be in the top floors of the buildings ;)

The top floors of Tower 2 is empty as Petronas only leases to anyone whom is taking all the top floors in one go. They are also very selective of its tenants as it is up to their discretion and they are VERY rich. They have very strict criterias and also the highest office rental in Malaysia ;)

But the top floors of Tower 1 had been occupied since day one by Petronas themselves. In fact Petronas fully occupied Tower 1 and even that is not enough. Some are spilled-over to Tower 2 and some still remained at its pervious HQ - Menara Dayabumi. The top-most floor houses the office of Petronas' chairman. The subsequent floors houses Petronas' advisor and CEO. :)

I can't find any interior pictures....hmmm....lemme see if I could dig up some I took at the Skybridge level ;)

Thanks for the replies guys. I was just wondering as most such projects take advantage of the added tourism by incorporating viewing platforms. I stayed at the Ascot last year and loved sitting by the pool with a few beers watching the twin towers. Spectacular! and a great city overall. Loved Times Sqaure and the indoor theme park
