Well luckily this isn´t one, the only thing this two buildings (TOC & Burj Al Arab) look something similar is in the one side curvature, nothing else, they are completely different in all other aspects.

I'm afraid that's the first thing I thought when I saw the initial illustrations, too. With all the design ideas out there, this was the best Trump could come up with? Is it supposed to be special just because it has his name on it?

A lawsuit? Boy, I'd love to see how that turns out. On the surface it's like suing an architect for designing another tall glass box, or a songwriter getting sued for writing a song based on your standard 12-bar blues-- but this design is rather close to that of the building designed to be Dubai's signature on the Persian Gulf-- its version of the Eiffel Tower. We shall see...

First of all the first image didn't show up, and second I don't know how many promoters draw all the buildings that surround or are near their projects, I think that wouldn't sell so much, (in my opinion), but ironically and opossed to what you thought, this building is one of the few projects I know that has some renders showing the sorrounding buildings silhouettes, here they are:

Maybe Dubai should start copyrighting some stuff...which means that it has reached some maturity, now that has become a place of design inspiration. Yet its a great project!

peninsula.Did you mean on a peninsula with it being the only building? Although being built amongst other buildings, it is on a
peninsula named Punta Pacifica. Below is a rendering of how the the finished product ought to look.

Looks nice, I was in Panama this summer. I really found the city bustling. But it's very dirty and poor in some places. It seemed like the new condos were growing up right in front of the slums. I really hope Trump can find a way to get the tower to fit in.

Huh? Have you been living in your cave? It is time for you to leave your cave and start do some serious traveling... Go to New York City, Chicago, Hong Kong, Vancouver B.C., etc. These cities have very high density and people are willing to pay more for homes they want to live in. Panama City isn't alone. I agree it is in wrong location but I think it should be built at that exact peninsula to stand out instead hide it around towers.

The location is not the best, it should be a the very tip of the point or here is where the Trump Ocean Club should be imo. Planned developement of Costa del Este. The Trump would stand out but at the same time have tall neighbors. (the third tower from the left u/c will be over 280 meters)

1. Where is public transportation system?
2. Where is the shopping district?
3. It is not walkable neighborhood.
4. It looks like it is hard to get around.
5. Streets are not organized well which makes it difficult to drive around.

I never seen any mansions to be built in the middle of skyscrapers forest before. It is new to me. I don't think I want to live in that type of neighborhood if I am that rich.

1. Panama City´s entire public transportation system is a mess until the light rail is built, this development is contained within Panama City proper and is bound by the City´s public transportation.

The shopping district is there, cannot be described going off 2 images

Lol, I guess that's just the Panama City planning system. I think it's not that bad, just nice for a change. All cities are separated in skyscraper and suburban districts, let's see how this will work out.

They arent all Mansions, as you call them. Most are lowrise apartments, condos and commercial. What should they do tear down all lowrise buildings?

Wow....that building is MASSIVE from the side.....it's going to dominate that side of the skyline.

Not bad planning at all....just the drive to have a good location on the beach. The mansions [if they are that indeed] around it were there first, but land is land and you know the first three rules...location...

You see this a lot on Houston....skyscrapers very close to neighborhoods...nice ones at that. A city without zoning can be really cool. I remember when the Transco tower was finished [called Williams Tower right?]...there was very little in the way of skyscrapers up next to it....the view was stunning.

Panama City has a world class skyline already, but Trump's tower will definitely set it apart.
