just shows that americans don't care much about whats going on in the world...no wonder they're so uneducated!
tablemtn October 6th, 2007, 11:25 PM Nobody actually buys physical copies of newspapers anymore. That's just silly. All of that information is on the internet for free, and it is more up-to-date.

its not silly, because its a different experience to read from the newspaper then to read from the computer...at least magazines i buy, because they still are IMO more interesting then to read on the internet!
p-s-30@za2 October 6th, 2007, 11:40 PM The number of newsperpar of U.S.A is 6,2800,000 in 1985, too.
It was about 80,000,000 in Japan.
Yardmaster October 6th, 2007, 11:48 PM The number of newsperpar of U.S.A is 55,000,000 in 1985, too.
I suppose you mean 55 million printed copies per day. Personally, I very rarely buy a newspaper (only when I am away from the Internet) but surf the newspapers' websites all the time. I also get two newspapers delivered for free each week ...

Americans are definately more informed about whats going on in the world then japanese. Many japanese dont even know whats going on between china and japan
p-s-30@za2 October 7th, 2007, 12:15 AM In Japan, the intellectuals subscribe to a newspaper of the paper.
The capital must be China.
wazabi October 7th, 2007, 12:47 AM it would be interesting to know if there's a connection between newspaper consumption and the use of public transportation. what to do on trains? read!
and stop bashing the usa, just look at those countries:
France 215.3
Hong Kong 189.6
Australia 176.4
Italy 156.1
Spain 113.3
Greece 67.4 (!)
actually, i don't believe this list. what does it say? "Number of Newspapers sold a day per 1000 inhabitans"? someone help, my japanese is rusty...
wjfox October 7th, 2007, 01:26 AM WTF. Why is this thread here?
