So could it be Kalkutta, Mumbai or Hyderabad perhaps? Mahratta October 7th, 2007, 08:57 PM Mumbai or Kolkata, probably Mumbai. I say that because I'm not aware of a slum that big outside of Mumbai...never been to Kolkata, but I dont think Kolkata has slums of that size Hyderabad - not possible. Mahratta October 7th, 2007, 09:00 PM Why? Aren't there any slums? Or did they even ragged them? Hyderabad and Bangalore (and Delhi too, now) do not have slums of that size... erbse October 7th, 2007, 09:01 PM Why? Aren't there any slums? Or did they even ragged them? coa190 October 7th, 2007, 09:29 PM If we notice the segment in the middle with different structure, i think we can conclude that this slum is vanishing, by implementing some better urban plan. coa190 October 8th, 2007, 01:28 PM It's not in Mumbai. LMCA1990 October 8th, 2007, 07:09 PM Lagos? Mahratta October 8th, 2007, 09:54 PM It's not in Mumbai. Maybe it isnt a slum then, just a network of really packed in houses and disorganized streets..maybe even the old part of Hyderabad / Delhi? coa190 October 8th, 2007, 10:24 PM Maybe it isnt a slum then, just a network of really packed in houses and disorganized streets..maybe even the old part of Hyderabad / Delhi? Well, you are right, it is one controversal enclave in Delhi! And it is tough to judge whether it's a real slum or not, but it certainly IS some kind of unauthorised subcity without proper infrastructure. If someone is interested here is the story from Google Earth Community: Mahavir Subcity III Posted by: MorphonX Click here for the post Mahavir Enclave III , Mahavir MahaEnclave,New Delhi INDIA NOT A SLUM.People BUILT the roads here, laid the sewer lines via residential Welfare Associations, even though they paid taxes. What do they get inspite of paying taxes? Regular power outtages/a dirt track for a road, not even sewer lines/health cover! And what does Sheila Dickshit's government call it?An 'unauthorized colony', right in the heart of India's capital. When the people went to their leaders to get it authorized, the leaders asked for bribes. And now they call this model of people empowerment 'UNAUTHORIZED'.Shame on you corrupt babus!Google Earth is telling the truth to the PLANET! The people built all these areas themselves, and you shitholes wish to take credit for the entire 'New Delhi' The only areas you shitholes 'preserve' is the British legacy in the North East, the colonial Old Delhi, of all those stupid roundabouts. The real 'New Delhi' is the 90 % of Delhi you see as these small residential nearly self reliant/self functioning colonies made by the REAL people of Delhi (aka Dilli ke Dillwale), who have built it with their sweat and toil. Now all the sick babus on this planet better ask themselves who has to give AUTHORIZATION to a man to build his own home in his own country? And if you motherfuckers just said 'A corrupt bribe taking Delhi Development Authority babu', who needs the bribe to get his daughter married, or a sick local MLA , then I suggest you zoom out and better count the number of such colonies in New Delhi and the number of Delhizens (90% of them are 'officially' categorized as UNAUTHORIZED, to pressure them into being turned into political capital) and the give the people an honest answer as to wether people building their own homes in their own country is illegal or taking bribes/doings scams/taking sluts and bribes is?'. THE RIGHT TO PROPERTY: A fundamental human right! dreamtime07 October 9th, 2007, 07:58 AM Mumbai? erbse October 9th, 2007, 06:43 PM ^ No, Addis Adeba :pet: dreamtime07 October 18th, 2007, 01:52 PM where is this place in google earth? can you give coordinates, I want to see it myself. thanks a lot LMCA1990 October 18th, 2007, 03:34 PM Giving coordinates would give it away :sleepy: gladisimo October 18th, 2007, 09:24 PM ^^ Someone already guessed it, it's Delhi.
