Austria to help restore Persepolis

With a joint project estimated to cost 30 million euros, Iran and Austria will restore Iran's foremost historic site, Persepolis.

Grunberger and Regwart, heads of Lighting Design Austria and Spurwein architecture companies, held their first round of talks on Persepolis (Takht-e Jamshid) with Mohammad Kiarashi, Iran's cultural attaché to Vienna.

The construction of a traditional restaurant, a mall, a VIP site, a conference hall and a museum are among the activities within the project.

Sounds like a pretty big project then... Hope we are kept in the loop...

I think they'll goin to put hotels, Vip around the area. not to rebuild it. lol it would be impossible.

Restoring something is different from rebuilding it!

They are going to restore it and probably make sure it lasts another few hundred years.

gd news atleast its gettin some attention after 2500 yrs..wat about the cyrus grave + his other palace!
the place needs to come out from its derest shape!!

at least if the government doesn't care about its historic places.there is another country that...

i think if they make esfahan and shiraz, free trade zone, they get much more tourist + aswell as some changed in foreign policies

The British Museum? I didn't see a lot of Persian stuff except the Cyrus Cylinder.

Louvre is in Paris. It has a lot of the Persian artifacts.

No, you should research on the Cyrus Cylinder. It's in the British Museum and a replica is in the UN.
