Heading east brings us into the hood known as Old Town. It goes from Cromwell Ave to Old Town Rd between Richmond/Quintyard Rds with Marion Ave. This hood is mostly residential. Originally, it was first settled by Dutch, English, and French fisherman, though the English called it Dover. For much of the time this area remained rural. It wasn't until the 1880's when the B&O RR decided to have the SIRT pass through here that started to spur developement. Even though Old Town was absorbed with the rest of Staten Island in 1898, it still felt like a world away. Much of the newer houses had came after the Verrazanno-Narrows Br was built in 1964 giving way to this area as a whole. Many of associated Old Town with either Dongan Hills or South Beach despite existing by itself. You can get here by taking the SIR to the Old Town Station. Here is what you will find in Old Town.
