Heading south brings us into the hood known as Dongan Hills. It goes from Jefferson to Cromwell Aves, with Seaview Ave between Richmond Rd and The Narrows. This hood is mostly residential. Originally it was settled by the Dutch in the early 1600's as Hillside/Linden Pks. In 1682, the English acquirred the land and they were renamed as Dongan Hills after Thomas Dongan, who was the the governor of NY at the time. Dongan Hills remained a remote, rural area until the 1880's when the B&O RR built the SIRT. However developement didn't really come until after WWII especially after the Verrazano-Narrows Br was built. These days there isn't that much to see in Dongan Hills as it does very much look like its neighbors. You can get here by taking the SIR to the Dongan Hills Station.
