Italians snatched 3.5bn euros contracts in Algeria
Italian companies snatched contracts of 3.5bn euros in Algeria during the 2007 first half, the Italian Institute for Foreign Trade (ICE) revealed. An ICE communiqué released yesterday, of which El Khabar got a copy, mentioned that the Italian companies snatched their deals through international tenders to construct several facilities in different sectors.
The same communiqué added that Italian operators benefited from opportunities offered by the Algerian market, which helped Italy to curb the deficit recorded in its trade balance down to 2.7bn euros. It further indicated that Italy exports to Algeria raised by 37.4 per cent during 2007 first half compared to 2006 same period.
In turn, the Italian Institute for Foreign Trade reported that Algeria’s exports to Italy dropped by 21.8 per cent during the first half of the current year compared to last year same period. The exports revenues reached 35bn euros, 98.2 per cent of which as gas and hydrocarbons products exports.
