This is the site where the old creek was unearthed during excvations. Good that the developers are going to provide some public access to the creek.

...and yay, finally a rendering.

The project manager of 70 @ William Zonie Construction & Design informed me that they're aiming for an Oct '04 completion date. Even though there is a 'Paramount' in Surry Hills, he said Zonie was also thinking of 'Paramount' for this one.

Here are some pics from yesterday i.e. Sunday 04/08/03...

Retaining walls, pit & track hoe:

Even though construction is going ahead, I was told by Zonie that sales for the apartments have been put on hold. I think he meant that there will be a launch date for sales via the media.

....also the web site is still 'under construction'.

Paramount will difinitely be its name.

I think I saw that crane on Saturday. It's visible all the way up Park St from the QVB.

Took this pic from the 13th floor of 227 Elizabeth Street last Thursday. Besides a nice view of the top of Kings Cross and William Street, the crane for Paramount Apartments is visible, just to the left above the trees and in front of 80 William Street:

...and some pics taken today i.e. Sat. 27/09/03.

Lindores crane looking east along William Street:

How did you get into 227 Elizabeth St? It's a good place to check out all the activity going on the Cross.

Had a peek-a-boo yesterday arvo http://qopt.phys.msu.su/pasha/smiles/smiles1/peepwall.gif.

The bottom of the pit has finally had its top layer of cement smoothed over and all footings are now in place. Not one speck of soil to be seen anymore.

The only way now of course is ^ up ^ .

Didn't realise this was going to be a Marchese + Partners until SteveMelb, Matixvolta and I walked by the site last Monday. Quality rest assured.

Darn ss.com being down and there is still nothing entered on the Marchese site. :(

I think they had a looooong break over the holdiday period as even though there were many workers on site, it hadn't progressed much. It does have a rather large footprint though.

going up quick!Sure bloody is. Just after the Xmas/New Year construction break in mid Januray, it was only just reaching level 2 above ground.

Now it's 10 levels above ground. Considering the large footprint, this is quite amazing!! Looks like the maximum apartment floor-to-ceiling heights too with huge double-glazed (we'd hope) windows fronting William Street.

I also wonder if the architects and developers were thinking ahead for less traffic in 2005 when the Cross City Tunnel opens so that the residents can view the 'beautification' of the strip.

Only 5 floors to go.
