As 3tmk promised us, whenever elections are close by, we would be allowed to have a political thread. Since I see that the Developments/Economy thread has been filled with political comments, let's move the discussion to this thread.

Here is an overview of the candidates in the four biggest cities and in Kardzhali where the election race might get really interesting this year.

Antonia Parvanova - NDSV

Boyko Borissov - GERB

Brigo Asparuhov - BSP

Martin Zaimov - CDC/DCB

Yuliana Doncheva - Union BG (Novoto Vreme, Gergiovden, Agrarian National Union)

Slavi Binev - Ataka

PLOVDIV(Current mayor is Ivan Chomakov but he decided to step out from the race)

Slavcho Atanassov - GERB/VMRO

Zahari Georgiev - BSP

Todor Hristev - Ataka

Yesterday i had a good laugh at one blog's quick analysys of the web sites of the canditates for mayor of Sofia.

Here is the link (http://komitata.blogspot.com/2007/10/blog-post_9787.html) to it

Overall the impression from their web sites is that only Titi and Martin made some efforts to show themselves in good light over the internet. teh others simply don't desrve to be commented.

And here go the sites of the candidates :

Boiko Borisov (http://boikoborisov.bg/)

Martin Zaimov
(http://obichamsofia.com/)
Titi Papazov (http://www.titipapazov.com/)

Brigo Asparuhov (http://www.brigoasparuhov.net/news.php)

Antonia Parvanova (http://www.parvanova.a.bg/bg/)

Is it true that Slavi Binev said if he's elected, in a year, there will be no gypsy ghettos in Sofia? :)

I did a little experiment. I started loading the web sites of the candidates simultaneously in order to see which one will finish loading first.
( I just want to mention that my internet is extremely slow. I have lived in different cities in Germany and I have had different providers and different TECHNOLOGIES of transmitting the data including WLAN, Cable, Laser(the worts ) and i assure you that what they call fast internet here is what we ( at least in Sofia ) used to call the shittiest connection three, four years ago )

So here are the resultswith my WLAN :

1. Antonia Purvanova ( almost simultaneously )
2. Brigo Asparuhov ( a bit after that )
3. BB ( a lot after them )
4. Martin Zaimov ( a bit after BB )
5. Titi Papazov ( it took the connection about 5 minutes )

Yes but I had in mind presidential or legislative elections

We otherwise don't want politics here
