Background Information
A design proposal for a Corporate Headquarter for a foreign MNC is located in the vicinity of KLCC. Various designs were made to suit and provide the most efficient office space which also include high atrium lobby with specialty retail facilities, cafeteria and parking facilities to compliment the nearby buildings especially the KLCC Convention Centre. Public and private entrances were also required by the users. Three proposals of various designs were produced on the 2.5 acres site along Jalan Pinang.

Design Approach
In this design, a 50-storey Corporate Office Tower is proposed with a grand 5-storey atrium lobby with some specialty retail outlets. The grand atrium lobby is opened up to a landscaped courtyard which serves as a linkage to the nearby KLCC Convention Centre.

Apart from the metal cladding and glass curtain wall facade, a layer of aesthetically designed sun-shading enclosure is being introduced to the whole tower providing a unique identifiable overall structure or building that can be seen from the vicinity of KLCC as well as the KL skyline.

It look nice but how come those new towers around KLCC and Bukit Bintang nowadays are only 40-50 floors? KL skyline will only become flatter when they are completed.

Because of height limitation imposed by the city hall. Please check the KL Structural Plan 2020.

What is the reason of imposing a height limit for a building there while KLIA is far away and you have other buildings taller than 50 storeys? I guess they just don't want to see another tower taller than the Petronas Towers, huh?

KLIA? Of course it is far away. That's not the reason.
City Hall plans to keep buildings around the Twin Towers at least 100m shorter not to block them when viewed from all angles.

^^

Em, yeah....that's right.......

I would think the KLCC area skyline will look balanced with the 50/60 storeys buildings being planned throughout that area....
