Dream Expressway

THE DREAM EXPRESSWAY which many Central Luzon residents have been waiting for will become a reality soon, according to Manny V. Pangilinan of the Metro Pacific Investments Corp. (MPIC).

MVP recently announced the “integration” of the Subic-Clark-Tarlac Expressway (SCTEx) and the North Luzon Expressway (NLEx).

Do we hear clapping somewhere? Yes, we do… because this integration is seen to give convenience to motorists and lessen travel time.
Imagine seamless travel from Balintawak to Subic. Who wouldn’t be glad?

This SCTEx-NLEx integration is a big promise, one that is very much welcome especially by Kapampangans and residents of Central and North Luzon.

So when can this dream be realized? According to Manila North Tollways Corporation president Rodrigo Franco, the NLEx and SCTEx would be merged “at the end of the year.”

A few more months, folks… and our Dream Expressway will be on the way.

http://centralluzondaily.com/index.php?action=article&n_id=7462

as far as i know connected ng matagal ang nlex and sctex, ang laking ginhawa nga kasi from balintawak- sa luisita or tarlac city na ang exit para marating ang tarlac.. baka siguro ang integration na sinasabi sa article na ito eh isang bayaran na lang ng toll at di kagaya ngayon na iba ang bayad para sa nlex and sctex.

Exciting ang news sa ongoing construction ng TLUex, at siempre mas maganda kung ma co connect ang buong Luzon, extend pa hanggang very tip of northern luzon and and to the south sa sorsogon, sarap mangarap hayz

-Capas owns a Jollibee building and now one of the Municipality's sources of income, a good LGU initiative.
-Rehabilitated and renovated its historical landmarks such as The Capas National Shrine, located 7 km from the town proper.

NDC approves P3-billion TPLEX financing
By BERNIE CAHILES-MAGKIL

State-run National Development Co. (NDC) has approved the P3-billion bridge financing sought by the San Miguel Corp. led consortium to initially fund the P16-billion 88.58 kilometer-toll road extension from Tarlac to Pangasinan and La Union.

NDC general manager Ma. Lourdes Rebueno said the NDC board has already submitted the terms of the bond float to the Privatization Council for approval. The P3-billion financing for the Tarlac-Pangasinan-La Union Expressway (TPLEX) would be the first tranche under the P50-billion infrastructure bond of the government.

Under the original timetable, NDC expects to have completed the P50-billion infrastructure bond float in the first semester of the year, but, so far, only TPLEX has applied for financing.

In addition, Rebueno said, there would be a new set NDC Board of Directors under the new government of President Noynoy Aquino.

NDC, the investment arm of the government attached to the DTI, has not raised any project financing this year.

The last financing it raised involved the P5.5 billion bond float for the irrigation projects of the National Irrigation Administration. NDC conducted P2 billion bond float in 2006 and P3.5 billion in 2009.

Rebueno said that NIA still has an outstanding debt of P4.7 billion in obligation with the NDC and its next payment of P800 million will fall due towards the end of the year. Rebueno expects NIA to update its loans from NDC once government releases its budget from the General Appropriations Act.

Meantime, the TPLEX consortium seeks to complete the four-lane road in 2014. It will connect the North Luzon Expressway, Southern Luzon Expressway, C-5, Subic-Clark-Tarlac Expressway, and the Southern Tagalog Arterial Road.

Aside from the shareholders’ equity and the government financing, a syndicate of local banks have already expressed interest to grant loan facilities for the TPLEx project but said that the release of their funds will follow after the government has released the subsidy to the project.

The Sy-controlled Banco de Oro Unibank, parent of BDO Capital, had expressed interest to provide up to P10 billion in loans for the toll road project.

"Anyone who had a chance to visit the city must have walked through F. Tanedo Street.
F Tanedo Street is like the Session Road of Baguio City, referred as the commercial district. A number of new stores and other business establishments are now found along this street. Along the street, you can find bakeries, restaurants, newspaper stands, bookstores, boutiques, cafes, and studios, sidewalk vendors and in some corners, blind beggars, and the like which you have to look out for."

I do hope there would be an Urban Economic Quadrant in the Island of Luzon.

The main hub will be a future Megalopolis of Manila: it will be serviced and complemented by an urban-wise and vibrant economic center in the North of Luzon, The Metro Tar-Pam which is composed of Tarlac and Pampanga super-province. The main urban cities will be Angeles City and Tarlac City. It will have an airport--railway component and other modern urban-planned requisites. The seaport-component will be connected to Subic in Zambales province. It will become a gateway to the rest of Northern and North-Eastern Luzon.

On its East will be the Metro Reina (Real-Infanta-General Nakar) economic Freeport Zone, complete also with an airport-seaport-railway component. This Eastern Luzon Seaboard Capital will support micro-industrial and urban units to offset the ills and irreparable urban malaise of the blighted NCR. It will become a gateway to Pacific Region and to the Bicol Region.

On the south will be the Metro Batangas, composed of the cities of Batangas and Lipa, and the first class municipalities of San Jose and San Pascual. It will be complete with a seaport-railway component, and master-planned urban resettlements, business and industrial parks, agro-industrial and aquaculture components. It will also become a gateway to the Visayan region and to the Bicol Region as well.

The last key point of the Urban Economic Quadrant will be a proposed urban center in the west- that's from the southern tip of the Bataan Peninsula. There will be a international cargo seaport in the municipality of Mariveles (with an access going to the Subic Freeport) and a railway component plying through a suspension bridge that will connect the Peninsula to the Island of Corregidor, and then to the south-western part of the Province of Cavite. The Province of Cavite in turn will have master-planned urban coastal centers and communities located in the municipalities of Naic and Ternate. It will become the gateway to the South China Sea. The airport component will be serviced to from an international airport and logistics hub in Sangley Point, Cavite City.

The four key urban centers-the north, west, east, and south- will be connected by diversion and spur roads, viaducts, bridges and most probably tollways. They will also be complemented by railways systems, I prefer heavy rail, or if we want to go the extra mile, bullet trains. The designated boundaries of these four key urban centers will become greenbelt and agricultural areas, thus limiting the urban growth just inside the expanse of the geopolitical jurisdiction of these centers. Metro Manila, or Mega-Manila on the other hand, must be overhauled. Brownfield development must be pursued and vertical expansion must be patronized.

Anyway, these are all just wishful thinking.

Dito lalong palalakasin ang food production management by improving irrigation systems, modern agricultural techniques and other infrastructures.

Then, ang daming developments and investments sa Clark at Subic. I hope magkakaroon din maraming foreign investments in the near future sa Tarlac.

This is the article I've read, re: New Asia Golf and Spa Resort (Capas, Tarlac)

Ex-Pinatubo victims now have houses of their own

CAPAS, Tarlac - In 1991, some 500 families displaced by the Mt. Pinatubo eruption sought refuge at the Camp O’Donnell resettlement center here, trying to start a new life after the biggest disaster of the century.

The eruption caused untold suffering to the people of a wide area of Central Luzon who had to make do with whatever was left of their belongings and properties, including their homes.

Fifteen years after the devastation, these families now have houses they can call their own, thanks to the government and its efforts to improve the lot of victims of calamities and natural disasters.

This morning, the 500 families who sought refuge at the Camp O’ Donnell resettlement center received from President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo the original certificates of title (OCTs) and certificates of house allocation (COHAs), proofs of their ownership of the land they are now occupying.

Barangay captain Kennedy Molina of Cristo Rey, Capas, Tarlac and O’Donnell homeowners association president Rey Gutierrez received the land title certifications from the President herself.

She was assisted in the distribution of the titles by Capas Mayor Reynaldo Catacutan, National Housing Authority (NHA) Deputy General Manager Feliciano Lazarte and Tarlac Governor Apeng Yap.

During the awarding rites, the President also distributed 23 checks worth P50,000 each to the 23 flood victims in Mabalacat, Pampanga who were also resettled here by the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD).

"Maraming salamat sa mga bagong may-ari ng lupa ngayon sa mainit ninyong pagtanggap sa amin. Good luck and congratulations sa pagtatayo ng mga bagong bahay ninyo. Maraming salamat din sa pagsuporta ninyo sa amin," the President told her fellow Cabalens.

Mayor Catacutan, in coordination with the NHA and the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR), effected the implementing rules and regulations of Proclamation 813 covering 342 hectares as O’Donnell resettlement area, formerly a portion of Zone B of the Clark Air Base military reservation.

Following the brief land title distribution rites, the President inspected the New Asia and Golf Course and Spa Resort clubhouse located in Barangay Dolores, Capas, Tarlac.

She viewed the three-dimensional model of the golf course and spa resort while she was being briefed by Kim Bok Kuy of the Sae Jong Leisure and Development Corporation, the Korean developer and investor, on the status of their project.

The New Asia Golf Course and Spa Resort is a $50-million (P2.5- billion) investment which aims to convert the idle lands of Capas into a world-class golf course and spa resort.

As of today, the project was already 70 percent complete. Its facilities and amenities include 70 villas, an 18-hole golf course, hot spring pools, convention hall, jaccuzi and massage parlors.

The project currently employs 400 workers. Once completed and fully operational, it would employ 2,000 personnel mostly from Capas and neighboring municipalities.

Sandiganbayan acquits Tarlac mayor, 5 others for malversation raps

BY: Eden Gutierrez

TARLAC CITY -- The Anti-Graft Court had cleared Mayor Ace Manalang of the illegal use of public funds in its decision rendered August 05.

Aside from Manalang, five other respondents were also acquitted, including chief city accountant Nathaniel Lugtu; city treasurer Lyn Dela Cruz; city planning officer Janet S. Pineda; former city budget officer Boy Serrano and former city engineer Fred Baquing.

The case stemmed from the alleged diversion of public funds for the construction of barangay chapels in Sapang Maragul, Sapang Tagalog and Dalayap, where a taxpayers’ suit was initiated in the year 1998 by a certain Jess David and now City Councilor Ana Aguas.

The case was initially filed with the office of the Ombudsman, which subsequently ruled out the existence of probable cause. The complainants thereafter decried the dismissal of the complaint and subsequently elevated the case to the High Court, which in turn reversed the negative findings of the said Graft investigator and remanded the case to the Anti-Graft Court for a full-blown trial.

The complainants testified in the open court that the defendants acted in concerted efforts with evident bad faith in disbursing public funds for the purpose other than that provided for by law.

The respondents, in their testimonies, were able to rebut the claims of the complainants which convinced the said court and subsequently ruling out that the evidences adduced by the complainants were devoid of merit, reason why the prosecution failed to establish the guilt of the accused beyond reasonable doubt.

Some of the material facts relevant to the case from which the Anti-Graft Tribunal based its judgment of acquittal were that the structures from which the public funds were used are owned by the City Government and that they were only renovated for some multi-purpose consideration.

Besides, the passage of a valid Ordinance by the Sangguniang Panlungsod appropriating funds for the Program of Works explicitly providing for the renovation of those afore-stated buildings has likewise stricken down the allegations of the complainants, since all the afore-cited structures were intended for Day Care Centers, Community and social gatherings and other meetings, and that the alleged religious purpose was only deemed incidental as there was no indication or evidence as for their exclusivity for religious gatherings, the decision said.

P20M allotted for 3–month garbage hauling to Tarlac

by Harley Palangchao

The city government will spend more than P20 million for hauling of wastes to Capas, Tarlac for a period of three months as the problem on waste disposal is again giving too much headache to city officials. This, after they vowed late last year not to allot more funds for waste hauling and resort to more permanent measures.

The budget was allotted by members of the city council during its special session last Friday after residents of Irisan and nearby Tuba, Benguet prevented city dump trucks from disposing residual wastes in the area since May 13.

The city council decided not to dispose wastes at the Irisan dumpsite which is undergoing rehabilitation and eventual total closure.

The city council also created three ad hoc committees that will negotiate with the local governments of Aringay and San Fernando City, both in La Union, for possible disposal of garbage there instead of at Capas, Tarlac.

The other committee will also negotiate with the Department of Agriculture for possible disposal of biodegradable wastes at the Baguio Dairy Farm located along Marcos Highway.

Negotiation with DA was one of the main talking points among members of the city council. DA has yet to comment about the city’s plan.

When disgruntled residents blocked the main gate of Irisan dumpsite, tons of garbage from the different barangays and central business district were not collected.

The city council led by acting vice mayor Rocky Balisong with support of acting mayor Daniel Fariñas tried negotiating with the residents, who told reporters Thursday that there is nothing to negotiate.

The residents urged the city government to comply with the provisions of the Comprehensive Solid Waste Management Act.

The Department of Tourism (DOT) in Central Luzon cited the Monasterio de Tarlac as "the most revered pilgrimage site" in the region "on account of its spiritual prominence as the shrine of the sacred relic of the true cross upon which Jesus Christ was crucified and died."

The relic is contained in a silver reliquary housed in an ornately decorated glass case on one of the altars of the Church of the Risen Christ in the sprawling monastery where one also finds a 30-foot statue of the Risen Christ.

What is AKF?

AKF Defined

Animal Kingdom Foundation, Incorporated or more commonly known in the Philippines' animal-welfare world as, simply, AKF Inc. is the local affiliate of the International Wildlife Coalition Trust (IWCT) based in the United Kingdom. AKF's mission is to support, protect and promote welfare and the rights of animals; to eliminate the practice of illegal slaughter of dogs for human consumption and to introduce legislations or amendments in the existing animal-welfare laws of the Philippines.
A non-stock, non-profit animal welfare organization, Animal Kingdom Foundation, Inc., is registered with the Securities and Exchange Commission and duly enlisted with the Department of Agriculture's Bureau of Animal Industry, Animal Welfare Division. AKF has been in the forefront of animal-welfare advocacy in the country since 2002. Enforcing the Republic Act 8485-Animal Welfare Act of 1998-against illegal dog-traders is the main weapon utilized by AKF in its day to day operation against animal cruelty.

Rescuing Animals

As saving distressed dogs in the Philippines go, AKF personnel risk life and limb catching dog-traders. Together with the Central Intelligence and Detection Group (CIDG), raids on establishments confirmed of trading dog-meat are conducted and interceptions of deliveries to slaughter houses, particularly in the northern region of the country, are cautiously carried-out. An initial investigation takes weeks or even months. AKF personnel may have to return several times to suspected areas and even pretend to be interested buyers to verify that these establishments or individuals are engaged in such illegal activity. With verified information, AKF coordinates with the national and local authorities, mostly the CIDG of the police force for the raids. The rescued animals are brought to the rescue center of AKF in Capas, Tarlac.

Adonis, The Guard Dog

Adonis, as revealed in the Greek mythology is considered an ever-youthful vegetation god, a life-death-rebirth deity.

The reference to Adonis, the Greek deity, is accidental. Our Adonis' story, one of Animal Kingdom Foundation's rescued dog from an operation in San Jacinto, Pangasinan, is not of mythological stuff but the following narration with its near death-"rebirth" events is inspiring in its entirety and, surely, the Greek god won't mind having his name attached to a dog, especially if it has an interesting story.

On the last week of June 2006, during one of the risky operations of catching dog-traders by the Animal Kingdom Foundation, Inc, an animal-welfare group based in Metro Manila, in the village San Jacinto, Pangasinan, a skinny dog with tiger-like stripes bound for slaughter was spared due to the assertion of AKF's veterinarian Winston Samaniego. The skinny dog was already snared from its cramped cage by the dog-trader when the team of AKF Researcher Greg S. Quimpo, the supposed customer who is interested in buying dogs, Veterinarian Winston Samaniego and Ms. Suzanne Llanera, AKF's Managing officer, acting as business partners, arrived at the dog-trader's open view slaughter house and, immediately, Veterinarian Samaniego discouraged the slaughter stressing that they prefer bringing the dogs alive to a slaughter house up north. And so the skinny dog was spared from a painful fate.

The recovery of a number of dogs, now rehabilitating in AKF's Animal Rehabilitation and Rescue Center in Capas, Tarlac was a product of a month-long surveillance by animal-rights advocates, Greg S. Quimpo and Veterinarian Samaniego. The Criminal Investigation & Detection Group-Unit of Lingayen, Pangasinan spear-headed the raid and a complaint of violating RA8485-The Animal-Welfare Law of 1998- was filed in the prosecutor's office of San Jacinto, Pangasinan against the butcher by the Animal Kingdom Foundation activists.

While isolated from the other dogs in the center, the skinny and traumatized dog escaped from the holding pen, climbed the wall of a dried-out pool and jumped over the concrete fence out into the darkness. Considered as an escapee, the dog was not hoped to be recovered.

Until one night, the kennel staff and the guard of the center heard a persistent scratching coming from the iron gate. It was the skinny dog! He has returned. Closing the gate behind them, the kennel staff, Mark and Jed, tried to snare the dog back to the pen while the guard, Nick, stayed behind and watched. The skinny dog was elusive and made the two boys pant in exhaustion. While the two were catching their breath, they let the dog approached Nick. Throughout the night the dog never left Nick's side. He found a spot outside Nick's room and slept there while everyone in the center were in their room. The next day, they named him Adonis and, with the blessing of Charles Wartenberg, AKF's President, officially declared Adonis as the center's guard dog.

A non-profit, no-kill dog shelter dedicated to saving abandoned, neglected, abused and slaughter-bound dogs.

The Rescue Center

The AKF Animal Rehabilitation and Rescue Center is fully operating on donated funds from the United Kingdom. Much of the medicines and facilities utilized in it came from the UK. A few corporate and business establishments like Pedigree, Inc., Philippines and Oxford Suite Philippines have also donated dog-food and towels. The center sits on a 2.5 hectare rented property with enclosed concrete walls. It has considerable numbers of kennel where rescued dogs move freely. Each kennel features covered shelter with concrete floors and wide open ground where the rehabilitated dogs roam and roll with gusto.

The lone holding pen where distressed rescued dogs are delivered has a feature sensitively built for stress-free hauling. Upon entering a double-gate, the back of the delivery truck levels up to a wall with mound of earth on the other side. Once the back of the truck is open, the dogs alight from the truck unassisted. This has been proven to be an effective and safe way of hauling-off frazzled and unruly dogs rescued from far-away areas.

Several closures were constructed with varied uses. There are pens for male and female dogs, for ferocious ones and for disease-stricken ones. The clinic on the ground floor of the main house is the major treatment area. It can hold services such as neutering, spaying, treating skin-diseases, surgical operations, vaccinations, confinement and recovery of sick ones, de-worming, control of external parasites such as ticks and fleas, mange infection and laboratory tests for fecal, blood and microscopic examination. Competent Filipino and English veterinarians handle these delicate operations.

The upper floor of the main house has features and amenities to accommodate friends of AKF. It is a fully air-conditioned area with rooms, hot and cold shower, complete kitchen and sala set with combined mixture of hard wood and tiles.

The other building built for the staff features rooms with its own hot and cold shower and double-decked beds. The wide spaced sala and kitchen are fully air-conditioned. It has its separate laundry areas and a porch to welcome visitors.

A considerable number of fruit-bearing trees, mostly mango, which give the whole area an aesthetic appearance, lined up side by side on the pathway and lead to the entrance facing the pleasing façade of the main house. The trees are taken-cared of and expected to produce fruits for harvest.

The AKF’s Animal Rehabilitation and Rescue Center is, indeed, an ideal place to house distressed dogs victimized by the illegal trade and to welcome animal-lovers who have passions to save them.

Bili ka na lang sa pet shops ha ha.

Wala akong nakitang cats sa kanila eh, puro dogs.:) Kasi AKF one objective is to eliminate the practice of illegal slaughter of dogs for human consumption, kaya nirerescue nila ang mga dogs at diyan nila inilalagay at inaalagaan.:)

As in malinis, malawak at maganda. :)

Sun Cellular partners with Tarelco II through Sun Message Cast

BY: JOEL P. MAPILES

CITY OF SAN FERNANDO -- Business owners and residents of the 3rd District of Tarlac and Zaragoza, Nueva Ecija will now be duly informed about power maintenance and interruptions through Sun Cellular‘s partnership with Tarlac II Electric Cooperative, Inc. (Tarelco II), one of the best performing electric cooperatives in the country.
Sun Cellular has provided Tarelco II a service called Sun Message Cast, which is a web-based messaging service that allows a company to send and broadcast text message to one or multiple recipients across all networks.
With this Sun service, Tarelco II can now readily inform the public of any power maintenance and/or interruption within the locality. All Tarelco II consumers who will register to Sun Message Cast will then be notified of the power situation for the day.
Registrants need not be Sun Cellular subscribers. They can be from other networks too!
“Ang pinaka-edge ng Sun is open siya to all networks. And gumaganda na rin talaga ang coverage ng Sun dito,” said Engr. Jose F. Bognot, Jr. Officer-In-Charge of Tarelco II.
“Ang ganda ng offer ng Sun. Sa Sun, open to all na, mura pa. From then on, we did not look back. We immediately partnered with Sun,” added Marilou Vergara, Institutional Services Department (ISD) Manager of Tarelco II.
“Sun Cellular vastly affects the people in Tarlac. With this service, Sun continues its drive to community building and adding value to basic services that enable consumers, business owners, entrepreneurs and large enterprise better manage their daily operations. Sun Message Cast service provides fast, instantaneous, affordable and convenient way of sending critical information and advisories to Tarelco II consumers regarding power interruptions and the like. This allows consumers and factories adjust their operations to ensure minimal impact to productivity or homeowners’ inconvenience,” explained Corinne Zablan, Assistant Vice President of Sun Cellular.
At present, Tarelco II has more than 75,000 consumers who are encouraged to register to the Sun Message Cast. This innovative service is also used by Tarelco II for schedules of meetings with their 13 Central Luzon Electric Cooperatives.
For inquiries, interested parties may contact the Sun Cellular Corporate Sales and Solutions team at (02) 345-3765 from Mondays thru Fridays, 8am to 6pm. To know more about Sun’s other products and services, visit the website www.suncellular.com.ph or follow them at Twitter. Just visit www.twitter.com/suncelltweets and start tweeting today.

1-kl Marijuana brick seized in Capas

BY: Eden Gutierrez

CAPAS, Tarlac— A kilo of marijuana was seized from three suspected drug peddlers after they were arrested by local police while manning a checkpoint along the McArthur Highway, Barangay Cubcub here Tuesday evening.

In his report to Tarlac PPO director Sr. Supt. Amador V. Corpus, newly installed police chief Supt. Felix Verbo identified the suspects as Bryan Hernandez Policarpio, 30, married; Joy de Leon Bulatao, 34, married; and Pepito Carreon Perez Jr, 27, single of Sitio Centro, Matatalaib, this province.

Verbo said his men, conducting a random checkpoint at the place of incident, spotted one red TMX Honda 155 motorized tricycle (QN 3884) -- driven by Policarpio – heading towards the north recklessly, prompting the police to flag him down for verification.

Upon presenting his driver’s license, police saw from his wallet two tea bags of dried marijuana fruiting tops weighing more or less 2.5 grams, prompting the police to search his driven motorcycle’s backseat wherein they discovered one brick of marijuana weighing 900 grams.

Policarpio’s companions -- De Leon and Perez -- were also frisked and subjected to bodily search which resulted to the discovery of four more tea bags of dried marijuana weighing 6.9 grams from their possession.

The apprehended suspects, after being appraised of their constitutional rights, were taken to the Capas Police Station, while the confiscated pieces of evidence were taken to the Provincial Crime Laboratory.

The three suspects were also subjected to drug tests and laboratory examinations while pertinent documents are now being prepared by the authorities for filing appropriate charges against them.

No rotten rice at NFA-Tarlac

BY: EDEN GUTIERREZ

CAPITOL HILL, Tarlac — A surprise visit at the National Food Authority regional office here has revealed that there is no rotten rice in stock at the NFA-Tarlac warehouse.

This was according to 3rd district Board Member Tootsie Cruz during an interview, after the said surprise visit with Sangguniang Panlalawigan members headed by Vice Governor Pearl Pacada.

“Medyo naalarma kasi kami doon sa rebelasyon ng ating Presidente na maraming nabubulok na bigas sa NFA kaya kami naman sa SP ay gumawa ng pagbisita para makita kung dito sa Tarlac ay walang nabubulok na bigas sa warehouse ng NFA,” Cruz disclosed.

According to Cruz, the province has enough rice that will last up to 39 or 40 days. He added that even six month-old stocks would not be rotten because the storage of NFA Tarlac is in good condition.

“Their stocks are disposed on a first-come, first-out basis for both imported and local, that’s why no old stocks remain unsold,” the lawman stated.

Cruz also relayed that as of now, NFA-Tarlac is buying ready to mill MC 14 “palay” at P17 per kilo.
“Bumibili rin sila ng basa kaya lang limitado sa 2,000 bags per day ang kanilang requirement dahil ito lang ang kaya ng kanilang drier,” he revealed.

Top Ten Beautiful Sights that the Philippines has to Offer
By Jonathan Williams

The Philippines is an archipelago made up of about 7,100 islands. This archipelago country is located in Southeast Asia. In Asia, it is also one of the popular countries that get visited yearly by tourists, and here are the top ten places that they love going back to.

1.) Intramuros

This walled "city" is located in Manila. It served as a walled settlement of the Spaniards during their occupation of the country and, as such, has its own museums as well as churches and wonderful ruins. Today, this well-preserved Intramuros is one of the visited places in the Philippines.

2.) Rizal Park

Also called Luneta, this is a very good place if you want a leisurely walk. This park is dedicated to the Philippines' national hero, Jose Rizal, who was not only a poet but a very good writer during the Spanish era, and this was also the place where he was executed. Now, this is a popular place for picnics.

3.) Baywalk

This is a walking distance from the Rizal Park. You can find here numerous restaurants and bars offering wonderful foods and drinks. This is also a nice place to stroll along as well as listen to the many bands that play at night.

4.) Mount Pinatubo

This majestic volcano that wreaked havoc in the lives of Filipinos during the early 1990s is located in Pampanga. Here, you can take guided hikes on some parts of its slope. You can also take a refreshing dip in Pinatubo's crater lake.

5.) Nayong Pilipino

If you want to tour famous destinations of the Philippines in one spot, then visit Nayong Pilipino. This cultural park has a miniature Philippine Islands including some of the beautiful spots of the country. You can also buy here some native foods as well as souvenirs.

6.) Camp John Hay

When you visit Baguio, the country's summer capital, be sure to visit also Camp John Hay. This used to be an American Military area but was later given to the Philippine government. Now, it is a recreational center with golf club, and it also offers horseback riding as well as camping.

7.) Boracay

Boracay Island is located in the Visayas Region. What this beautiful island offers is its majestic white sand beaches. This is a popular tourist destination of not only the locals but the foreigners as well, and there are a lot of activities here like the usual water sports as well as trendy bars and discos during summertime.

8.) Mount Apo

Spa Town Sta. Juliana, Capas, the jump off point for Mt. Pinatubo crater and lahar areas.:)

Then yung terrain at rock at sand formation para kang nasa grand canyon (so to speak lang po kasi grand canyon is marvelous).

Pero nonetheless the trek itself to the crater is already an adventure. Kung baga pagdating mo sa crater yun ang ultimate price mo kasi the crater of the volcano is breathtaking! :)

May mga 4x4 na pwedeng maghatid sa iyo (price ranging from 3500 up) but then others walk their way up most of the time.

di ko din po alam eh.haha
sana dagdagan pa nila ang tourist attractions nila. :D

at ang alam ko rin they wanted the place to be as pristine as possible kaya may limit ang mga pwedeng magtayo ng side activities which is good nga naman. kasi baka maging boracay na sobrang commercialized...:ohno:

He he salamat Perseus, buti dumating ka. Salamat sa added info regarding Mt. Pinatubo. Yun pala ang ibig kong sabihin, they wanted the place to be as pristine as possible kaya ayaw nila masyadong magtayo ng iba pang structure sa lugar.:)

May Mc.DO, Jollibee, Chowking, Goldilocks.
