ROME: Italy's biggest oil and natural gas company Eni SpA said Tuesday it signed an agreement with the Libyan National Oil Corp. to jointly develop hydrocarbon projects in the North African country and extend existing contracts.

"Eni and NOC today signed a wide-ranging agreement, which represents a further step in the consolidation of their long-lasting strategic partnership," Eni said in a statement. The deal will allow the Italian company to "strongly increase its production of oil and gas" in Libya. The Rome-based company said the overall joint investments associated with the work programs are worth about US$28 billion (euro19.8 billion) over 10 years.

Hhhhmmm, interesting to know,:? isn´t Ghandaffi the first one that runs around Africa by shouting out loudly colonialism is to be blamed for all of Africa´s miseries by lavishly splashing around his petro-dollars to win over people´s hearts and minds for his " Big African Project". Isn´t he the one that has stated countless times that Africa should work together more strongly and leave out the "devilish West" and so on and so forth??? At the same time, he is the first to sign gigantic investments deals with Libya´s former colonial power, Italy! Weird!:weird:

He is one of the most schizophrenic rulers Africa has ever seen in its short post-colonial period. He disguises his true sense for power, influence and personal greed by wearing a perfectly tailoired but worn off ideological suit ("I am the sarviour of Africa from the money and power-sucking West") In a word, he is simply disgusting, by-gone and so cheap! He has long been dismantled!:banned:

I saw a report on BBC a few monts ago about Libya. It was showing that Libya is now open for foreign investors, and not just for arab investors like it was for decades.
It also displayed a huge tourist project of a German company, showing that Libya is very excited about tourism. I hope that it really will open Libya to the world.

Dispite of being an oil rich country, Ghadafi has not managed to diversify the economy of Libya. But I hope that he has now really waken up, and that he takes an example of other succesfull nations as UAE, Saudi Arabia and others that are making quick deals in the West with their private equity fonds.
But you never know what the next move of this unpredictable leader will be.

That is right. US, Europe, China etc are investing now a lot in Libya. There are major projects going on like to build a new city of more then 20 billion dollar just like Dubai. And there is a lot of construction in every sector.

Libya is on the good way.
