I wonder what these jewelleries are to do with development of Trivandrum. Jewellery shops are now a common sight in every corner of kerala sucking up valuable investment funds otherwise available for infrastructure development.

Agree with you Babu; However as per the local concepts, these are considered as development indicators. Some cities even consider traffic block as a development indicator. lol

I entirely agree with both of you. The fascination that we mals have with gold is hard to explain. Recently I got an e-mail forward about a gold mine waiting for prospective bridegrooms, along with wedding photographs of gold clad girls. With the level of education and awareness that we have, it is surprising that this archaic obsession is continuing unabated. We should start an awareness programme, so that this money can be used for developing our state.
