I hate to sound abit off, I know this sounds an odd request, but here goes.

I used to Live in this area a few years back, and I haven't been back since, due to me being only 7 at the time (1998).

So if anyone does have any pictures of Wigston, be it near Thythorn Primary School, the shops on little hill or Wigston Town Centre itself it would be appreciated if you could upload them onto here. I would love to see how it's doing.

I miss the peace and quiet compared to Liverpool (My Home town)

Unfortunately I probably won't be much help, but I'm sure one of the other members may have info./photos.

Hope to hear from you in the other Leicester threads as well!

Hey Cheers for the friendly hello :)

I went back to Leicester in '03 when I came down for the Liverpool Match, I moved away in early 1998 and I do remember Filbert Street and Some parts of Wigston Town Centre.

Be it Sainsburys and the Trophy Store in Blaby I think?

Could be way off my memory of the place is very fuzzy, but Fosse Park was a prominent memory I think The Toys' r Us got converted to and M&S, and the Swimming Baths just north of it. Can't remember what they are called mind!

Regarding the city centre I Can't remember anything different apart from the Walkers Stadium, De MontFort (Sp?) was the same and their was nothing that stood out.

The Shires was still as I remembered it.

Just browsing on here it is nice to see Leicester is getting so much more done to it, with the John Lewis being opened, it's deffinatly a city with credientials and I really did enjoy my time in Leicester, from what I could remember of it!

I am only 16 now and i spent my 5-9 years in Leicester. My Dad's job got moved from the Giro in Liverpool to Enderby (sp? again sorry :P) along with alot of people.

Let's hope when you do come back to Leicester that you'll see a city transformed. :)

Welcome to the Forum Litherland Ant.

I've been to a few great Leicester v Liverpool games over the years. We are Liverpool's bogey team and have a record against you lot, which is far better than it should be.

If you come to Leicester Uni, you'll see a rapidly changing city. Not on the scale of what is happening in Liverpool though. I've see some amazing stuff planned there...

Yeah, Leicester really are my second team when it all comes down to it, I like to see them do well and always look out for their results. Was gutted when Robbie never went to Leicester when he looked set too!

Their is alot of stuff going on in Liverpool the most impressive being the L1 Development I pass it every day on my way to college and it is incredible and I can't wait for it to open, and thats just the beginning.

I have to admit I like the look of the 'Highcross' devlopment, when I came back in 2003 there was nothing much different from when I left 5 years previously and it is good to see such a project happening. I see the old Leicester Mercury building is being rennovated so all in all something really special is going on in Leicester, I'm just browsing through some of whats happening and it really does look something special.

I thought Litherland was a Liverpool lad? He only lived here for a short time, when Giro operations moved from Merseyside to Leicester...and his dad worked for the company...

Doesn't matter where you are from anyway - you're still entitled to an opinion...
