The Health-technology campus consists of various buildings with diverse functions.

Two main guidelines were followed in the contextual approach:

Void generates mass - The inhabited volumes are defined through sculpting the central void that acts as the Lebanese courtyard, thus generating the inner gathering area.
Free of geometrical limitations and constraints, these volumes stimulate intimate dialogue with the heart of the project.
The central gathering space on the scale of the campus is a peaceful haven concealed in the chaos of the heart of Beirut. It extends along the elevations leading to the roofs consequently evolving into a public arena on the scale of the city.

Architectural identity of the project:
In order to give the project a contextual identity, different settings were produced: the choice of materials, the quality of spaces, and mostly the use of light as an architectural constructive element. The light is harsh when it passes through thick walls, it scatters when filtered through the mousharabiyeh, and it is soft and subtle in the polycarbonate volumes.

Very nice project! Does anyone know when is the completation date?

It does kinda remind you of Beirut Gate...and the second picture reminds you of the cinema design for the souks..but very cool!..is there map someone could post?

1)What are they going to do with the old "Campus de l'économie"?
2)How come they put th sport and the économie in one campus?
3)I don't understand why they used "innovation" in the campus' name since innovation is a bit like renovation or someting new?

^^ Yes, it's surreal, and I tried to emphasize that aspect in my photography. The material used for covering the first block (white/silver) is so futuristic and amazing on every level. It's reflective and translucent, and I can imagine it glowing from the inside at night, with the moving silhouettes of the residents visible from the outside. Also, when combined with the ornamented bare concrete (rigid feel) material of the second block, it produces a piece of architectural art.

Very nice project, and certainly one of a kind...
