Hello folks.
I have question.
Are there any plans of new connections from Ostrava? I am especially wonder about low cost carriers to and from UK.
Any Ryanair, Easyjet, Wizzair or anyone else?

How about road acces to airport? From map it seems that it's going to be far from D47. Is there going to be some new road (expressway, even in half profile) leading from airport to nearest motorway exit? (muk Studenka?)

By the way, what does it means "muk"?

There are plans for new connections tu Brussels, London, Moscow and Amsterdam in next year, and 8 more new lines till 2010. But no low cost I think.
About acces: Road acces is not too bad, there is R48 motorway closely and new D47 is going to not be far - I think it will be about 15minutes to MUK Studenka.
MUK means "MimoÚrovňová Křižovatka", in english it's "overpass" or "elevated crossing", I think.

Thanks for translation;)
Why no low costs? We have them in Poland even on smaller airports like Bydgoszcz or Zielona Gora.
Ostrava is quite big city. Is there no demand on cheap connections? Or is it some kind of policy not to take low cost cariers to the airport to feed normal airlaines?

It's policy of our regional governance. They are in love with Central Connection Airlines and they do everything possible to beat any competition.
So a lot of people from Moravian-Silesian region have to fly from Katowice, Brno, Wien, or Prague.

That's bad.
Ostrava would be the closest airport to my parents home which is in Jastrzebie. In few years it's going to be 15-20 min by motorway.
I hope by this time you'll get some connections with London.;)
