'Cool Cash' card confusion

A LOTTERY scratchcard has been withdrawn from sale by Camelot - because players couldn't understand it.

The Cool Cash game - launched on Monday - was taken out of shops yesterday after some players failed to grasp whether or not they had won.

Why do we pander to this stupidity? Why not leave the sodding cards there on sale? It's no wonder Lottery sales are so high! If the good old GP can't understand a simple number line, then they're never going to grasp probability!

How can we promote improvement of basic numeracy skills if things are going to be made easier for those who are so pathetically incompetent.

The 23-year-old, who said she had left school without a maths GCSE, said: "On one of my cards it said I had to find temperatures lower than -8. The numbers I uncovered were -6 and -7 so I thought I had won, and so did the woman in the shop. But when she scanned the card the machine said I hadn't.

"I phoned Camelot and they fobbed me off with some story that -6 is higher - not lower - than -8 but I'm not having it.

Stupid cow. I'm embarassed for her. In fact, I'm not, I'm just disgusted.

I agree with you mate. Utterly ridiculous. Our (UK) society is so concious of itself, we truly are heading for a 1984 scenario, I sometimes wish I was older then I wouldn't be around to see the shit hit the fan, but I fear I might be...

I'm pretty great at virtually everything but i'm shit at maths.
Sums involving negatives do give me a brain ache but in this instance i am all in favour of putting a bullet in the back of these peoples heads....for the good of society you understand?
You fucking thick twats!
