This year was a record year for Montenegro's tourism. Over 1.2 million tourists were officially recorded, a growth of 26% on last year. As usual, the majority were tourists from Serbia (38%), and other ex-Yugoslav countries (23%) , followed by tourists from EU member states (21%) ... and the fastest growing group, tourists from Russia and other ex-Soviet states, who now account for 11% of all tourists to Montenegro:yes:

Here's how they came;)

What a treat! Let's see, you got Boeings 737, 757 and 767, Tu-154, Il-86, MD-82, ATR-75 and Yak-40. However, not a single Airbus.:( But still... what a treat.

P.S.: I see Tivat is using an old Dacia 1310 as follow me car.

Fantastic place for plane lovers. A small airport, but so many types & companies that you can watch from a tiny distance

I see the huge but underpowered Il-86 has problems taking off. A bit risky... How long is Tivat's runway?

In our case, the biggest number of russian tourists visiting Romania was registered in december `89 !

Oh man , while i was living in Varna between 1997 and 2003 in a neighbourhood close to the airport i was so mad at the russian planes that were violating my privacy while landing several times a day during the whole summer ...

Last years traffic at Tivat was 451.000 passengers ... this year, we expect a minimum of 600.000, but hopefully close to 700k.
With Podgorica's airport (~350.000 passengers last year), Montenegro's two airports will for the first time handle more than 1 million passengers this year:yes:

That number will hit two million by 2010!

Rumours say that plans for a new terminal for Tivat will be announced soon - its expected to cost between 200-300 million euros and will boost capacity of the airport to five million passengers annualy.

Man that looks dangerous...I think they'd better build a longer runway than a new terminal...
