Hey cool is this Darwin's first "official" project thread???

Not an exciting building but at least it adds height and volume to the Darwin skyline.

Great news for Darwin!

In a few years, Darwin will have a great little skyline.

the good thing about darwin is that they dont have any so called 'heritage' crap cluttering the city, so in the future, its a clean slate for big development, albeit after most of us a dead... but the oportunity is there lol

Best thing about Darwin is that its completely surrounded by water so any tall building will have a fantastic effect on the surrounding area.

The city is also very flat too.

That first image is like a real case of nostalgic bad taste 60s/70s.
I hope it looks better in real life.

this is great news, ill add to ss.com!
also Darwin isnt flat! or at least at sea level. Its actually sits on a platue some 20m above sea level. It just looks like its at sea level. Thats why height limit is 120mRL , thus above ground is 100m. The CBD ranges in height by a few metres.
Some areas of CBD have 20m height limits/ 55m height limits 90m+ zones.
I reckon a nice 300footer would look good in the citys centre! mixed use-2 lev podium retail, 10 level office,10 level res, 10 level-hotel topped with rooftop observation!

Darwin has been 'kickstarted'. It wasn't all that long ago that people used to scoff at the Gold Coast, and that included Brisbane people who preferred to look the other way to the Sunshine Coast. So lets give Darwin a fair go!. :)
