For two years i lived in Indore and used to see IIM under construction on a hill top daily 2 times while going and coming back from my company in sagore.

This is my Alma Mater. Harcourt Butler Technical Institute, Kanpur. After 100 years of its establishment it is one of the oldest engineering institutes in India.

The one below was how it was when I studied there in 2002. The above pic is a recent one. It doesn't matter much, all the department buildings look alike giving you a feel of the colonial architecture.

What's wrong with the campus? It has one of the biggest university and most beautiful campus india. This one is just an administrative building. Thomson college of enginerring (later Roorkee University) was one of the oldest engineering college in india.

Hyderabad: Indian School of Business (ISB) - Hyderabad, the top-ranked Asian Business School is planning to make partnership with a number of foreign universities in the areas of joint research and curriculum development. The premier B-School has proposed to sign agreements with premier institutions in Brazil, Russia and China, also with Cornell University and Columbia University in New York.

The partnership with institutions in Brazil, Russia and China is expected to generate new courses that will help executives tap business opportunities in these countries. The two elite institutions in New York - Cornell University and Columbia University would help in research and curriculum development and in developing a rating system for transnational corporates.

"The goal of our tie-up with institutes in Brazil, Russia and China is to develop a programme for those who are entering BRIC (Brazil, Russia, China and India) countries to start their operations. It will also help train executives in an existing organization and generate more business opportunities," said ISB dean M Rammohan Rao.

The B-school has so far signed agreements with the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University, the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania and the London Business School (LBS) Kellogg, Wharton for academic cooperation and research.

thanks ... The last picture was shot from the rushikonda hill which stands between Bay of Bengal and the college. There is a tourism dept resort too on the hill facing the sea:

So, in this pic, you can see the resort and the hill ... behind this hill is the college campus ... there is just one campus ... i walked with my friends for 8 kms from the college to our room in MVP colony once all along the beach ...

The above pictures are of the new campus of Delhi College of Engineering. Its old campus (where the college was located when I studied there) was located in arguably the oldest educational campus in the country still in use as an educational institution. The oldest building in the campus was Dara Shikoh's library. Dara Shikoh was Shah Jehan's favorite son and heir apparent to the Mughal throne. He was a scholar and a liberal one at that. His Persian translation of the Upanishads was the route for the transmission of the knowledge of these ancient texts to Europe. He was defeated by and later killed by his brother Aurangzeb in the power struggle that deposed Shah Jehan. In later years, the campus served as a Madarsa, as a school, as the first college in Delhi, as the main campus for St. Stephen's college, as a technical training school for World War II and as the Delhi Polytechnic, before Delhi Polytechnic evolved into the Delhi College of Engineering. Since Delhi College of Engineering moved to its new campus, the old campus has functioned as the campus of Indraprastha University (since renamed as Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University).

The original Dara Shikoh library building was modified by David Ochterlony (the resident of Delhi, after whom the Ochterlony Monument in the Esplanade area of Calcutta is also named - since renamed as Shahid Minar) and that modified structure survives to this date as a museum of the archeology department of the Govt. of Delhi.

This building was in the heart of the campus but was not used by the college - it houses a small museum highlighting some of Delhi's history.

My dad also got his undergrad degree from DCE when it was located in Kashmere Gate. My brother went to the new campus for 3 semesters before we moved to the US. It's located in a place called Bawana (North-west Delhi) and it looks good as evident from the pics. The last station (Rithala) on Line 1 of the metro is about a 5 mins drive away from the campus.

DCE used to be ranked 7/8 in Engineering in 2004. I don't know the current rank.

It has been over 37 years since I graduated from BITS Pilani and yet not a day goes by when I don't think about the transformation my life went through under the watchful clock tower! Those were the days my friend, we thought would never end......

Actually, mine was the 6th or the 7th graduating class after BITS came into existence. However, there were 3 distinct colleges in existence at the very same location since the mid-late 1940s.

Actually Bitsian life even in those days was very exciting. Sure we did not have cellphones and laptops but remember the world at that time was in transition from the vacuum tubes to semiconductors! We did have a good sized computer (IBM1130) at the IPC though that we had to program through punched cards!

The connectivity wasn't terrible. In fact if you had the right connections at Birla Corporation, you could fly into campus on a DC-3 (I believe it is the same one that is parked at the museum now)! We had a full fledged airfield which unfortunately they have allowed to disintegrate.
