With last years spectacular opening of Berlin's new train station just ahead of the World Cup, and the recent re-opening of St. Pancras station in London, I thought the time was right to ask the question ....what do we have to compete with?:)

Either something that has opened recently (last five to ten years or so) or maybe some entirely new project in the pipeline?

I don't think there is any "new" or "modern" train station currently in EE that can compete against the western stations. However, the first thing that came to my mind was Kyiv-South railway station.

What about this Kiev station? Has construction started yet? If so, when is it expected to open?

KM, that's not in "modern style". As to when it opens, well ask this f*cking governemnt of ours. It was supposed to open in August. One part is open and functioning, I think mostly for trains within Kyiv-region, but the rest is under construction. There is some problem with financing, money keeps being stolen...I thin't we're up to like 1.5 billion USD that has been wasted on this station...

How much of Kyiv is built in revival styles these days?
