Kansas City will be getting a new $245 million bridge, starting in the Spring of 2008. The new bridge will be cable-stayed and the tower is supposed to reach 300ft in height. It will replace the aging Paseo Bridge, which has been spanning the Missouri river for 50 years.

The bridge will initially be 6 lanes with one auxiliary lane to accomodate over 100,000 cars that will be travelling over it each day. The bridge can also be expanded to 8 lanes (with 1 auxilary lane) in the future with a bike/pedestrian lane.
