Well, it's time to give this well performing country some more attention.
Some infrastructural projects I am aware of:
Airports:
- Third I'ntl AP inaugurated on Boa Vista Island
- Fourth Int'l Airport (Sao Pedro on S Vicente) will be inaugurated next year
Ports:
- Praia port to be expanded (which is costly as the ociean drops down immediately at the coast).
Roads:
- Praia ringroad as good as ready (dual lane express)
- Santo Antoa coast road under construction
TACV/Cabe Verde Airlines
- I travelled with them from Lisbon and their business class is top! Better than TAP, gnagna....
- More lines to London, Warsaw and Rome, extra flights to Amsterdam
- one Boeing 737-800 wetleased from a Czech company for extra flights (return flight to Lisbon - was good)
- two new ATR-72s for internal main route (Praia-Sal-Sao Vicente-Praia)
- Second airline, Halcyon, remains a mystery and is not takin off).
Foreign investors:
- Apparently China is chosing Sao Vicente as one of their five Special Economic Zones in Africa (together with Mauritiius, Zambia, Dar es Salaam and another)
Resorts/real estate:
- Praia: Palmarejo Grande and Cidadela expanding, Monte Barbosa in preparation
- Praia: 3 resorts: Sambala, Ponta Bicuda and Santiago under development
Santo Antoa:
- Sinagoga Resort
Sao Vicente:
- Cesaria resort
- Fortim resort
- Lazareto neighbourhood expanding
International trade:
- growing trade interests with state of Ceara in Brazil, direct flights to Fortaleza by TACV
