Thanks
Btw, that's downtown Rabat- the main area. I'll do a thread about it some other time.
My dad took those pics. He asked if he could and the guy told him just take them and pretend we didn't notice, lol.

do you live in those areas? O_o

No, I don't live downtown. But it's not far. I can walk downtown in 20-30 depending on exactly where I want to go. And by car it takes sth. like 5 minutes (unless it's rush hour)
Did you visit my other thread?

Is this Body of Lies (http://us.imdb.com/title/tt0758774/) starring Russell Crowe and Leonardo DiCaprio, directed by Ridley Scott? The plot involves Iraq and the Internet Movie Database lists Rabat as a filming location.

Oops, I guess you're right.
I never watch movies so am rather clueless and don't really follow these things. When I looked up Ridley Scott, Leonardo DiCaprio, and Rabat found an article that mentioned a movie called The Invisible Truth. Maybe the name was changed or sth.

I've been to Tehran once-in Feb 2006. I also visited Isfahan during that trip. This time I wanted to visit Shiraz but unfortunately we won't have time. I'll only be staying in Tehran.

I don't have any family in Iran but I have some acquaintances including a young girl who showed me around Tehran during my first trip. We also went to Isfahan together. I can't wait to see her again.

Let me know if you need some fun tips :)

Thanks a lot. Is there something you suggest or recommend?

Wow that's great. As for the fun spots in Tehran, I'm not a really museum type of person and I mostly like to hang out where young people hang out or where there is great food:

Darband, the area in the heart of Tehran mountains in the north filled with restaurants and you should go there at night time.
Tajrish square
Mellat Park
Milad Tower if it is finished
Saad Abad Palace
Niavaran Palace
Niavaran-Jamaran hills to get a great view of the city just take one of the streets up the hill.
Saei park is very nice too
Jordan street at night - most guys and girls cruise up and down the street and it has good restaurants in it too.
Vali asr street - Take a walk from vanak square all the way to tajrish square if you like walking. It will take about 2 hours but it's well worth it. Vali Asr street is all covered with trese but I think the leaves have fallen by now but it's a scenic street to take a walk in.
Tandis Shopping centre in Tajrish sqaure plus the Qaem shopping centre
Blue duck buffet in Tandis shopping centre
Tehran's grand bazar
Museum of Contemporary art
Drive around Chamran and Modarres Highways
Shahrake Gharb and Golestan Shopping Centre
Darakeh an area like Dardand in the NE mountain range
Tochal Tele Cabin- This is a must since it gives you awesome view of the whole city
Shariatti Street
Mohseni Square
Vali Asr Square

There are many other places but I can't think of them right now and I'm missing alot of them but visiting my photo therad gives you a good idea about all of these.

Also eat lots of Pizzas and Kabobs :)

I hope u have so much fun and let me know if you have any questions.

Metsada I hope this has been a good source for you too :)

Alitezar, thanks so much
I too am not a big fan of museums and prefer visiting monuments or just walking around. But if there's a really special or unique museum, I like to visit it. Last year I visited the Jewels Museum. I must say it was really impressive.

I also visited the Grand Bazar but it's a place I'll have to visit again- you can never get enough, lol. Btw, I spent all of Saturday afternoon at the souk here in Rabat buying souvenirs for my Iranian friends.

Your Tehran thread is one of my favorite threads on SSC;
Congrats on such a great thread. :)

^^ Aw great. I'm glad you liked the tips. I'm sure teh souvenirs you bought are so beautiful since that’s what Moroccans souvenirs are like. Thank you for the comment on the thread too.
Have a very fun trip and be in touch soon. BTW I think SSC is filtered in Tehran so you might not be able to access it but a lot of people have filter breakers :)
