Great news for Vienna, I visited DC 2 years ago when I was in Vienna, and it was cool to see that the city had a special skyscraper area. I also think these skyscrapers will impose new height standards for the future projects.

That rendering must be pretty outdated. No spire and the facade on the roof won't be straight.

And to let the international community know as well: Constuction is pretty much on hold right now, since there's a problem with the concrete quality. No idea when we'll see further progress...

Is it really on hold? Today i passed nearby the tower, i was on the metro and i saw some movements. And yesterday too. It looked like they were working quite hard, actually. Btw, I'm living in Vienna right now so i might be able to take some photographs too!

Whats the current state of height? About 70 meters?

It's difficult to say. There are two options to find out the height:

1: The "STRABAG-Haus" is about 45 metres, it's the small building in the left part of the pic.
2: You can say: The "Hochhaus Neue Donau" reaches without spire 120 metres.
The crane beneath the building is almost as high as the roof of the HochhausNeueDonau.

At least I would say, at the moment we have a height about 65 metres. :cheers:

This thread says it'll gonna be 230 meters but SSP diagrams say it'll gonna be 220 meters. SSP diagrams have been wrong before so I'd say 230 meters is the accurate number but please correct me if I'm wrong :dunno:

I always try to keep the austrian data on SSP up to date, but the final height of the tower is still unclear.

The drawing of the tower is very old – maybe someone will provide an update sometime…

So far they were using sliding formwork, now they switched to climbing formwork. It seems that they miscalculated the fluidness of the concret that was needed for the sliding formwork. At least that's what some people wrote on the Austrian forum. As I'm no expert whatsoever I cannot confirm any of this.

Well, I've got some photos for you. But the quality is very bad, it's just taken with the digicam (this digicam doesn't make good photos, when it's dark outside) of my parents. Hey guys!
Some nice information from the newspaper "ÖSTERREICH":
They've built something that's called "Outrigger-floors". These floors are very important for the stablility of DC Tower1. The problem was, the construction of these Outriggers did need more time than expected before. But know the tower shall grow 1-1.5 floors at week.
That's why we couldn't see any height growing in the last month.

From the outside it is reflected from the "inside" you can see everything clearly.

thats true, the highest roof at the millenium tower is 170 meters, with spire its 202 meters high!! :)

its actually not sure if the dc1 will have spires or not, but without its 220 to 230 and with spire something about 248 meters. :D

If every building and tower in the near of DC would be 20-30 meters higher (DC included), it would look even more impressive and like a REAL skyline. Vienna needs that as the biggest city and center of Austria.

What is a present height, or the height of cranes? How much of the building is completed? Do you know sb? Nice structure I must visit Vienna after construction.

i think we have reached a little bit more than 50% of the final height, and the highes crane should be about 150m high right now!! :)
