I would love to see this kind of architecture in a type of place where there is sunshine all year round and beaches are clear and white such as Miami, LA, Dubai and Honolulu.

Busan to Have 117-Story Building

부산도시공사도 사업시행협약에 따라 내년 12월 착공을 목표로 내년 8월까지 실시계획 인가 취득 등 행정적 절차를 마무리할 계획이다.

트리플 스퀘어 컨소시엄은 부산 해운대구 중1동 해운대해수욕장 옛 군(軍) 탄약창 부지 5만여㎡에 총 1조5천400억원을 투입해 전체 면적 58만4천㎡에 최고 높이 511ｍ의 117층짜리 리조트를 건설할 계획이다.

I've never seen a 30-story building standing in mid air, just being supported on the two sides, with nothing on the bottom to absorb the weight; that's a lot of pressure being put on the two taller buildings' sides! Magrite and Dali could've found that project interesting... if they were still alive.

Looks promising. I wish there were clearer renderings showing the base of the towers. I almost prefer the second version, though this one looks good too. The second proposed version had a nice podium. Anyway, miles better than the first version. That was t-a-c-k-y! Looked like something from a 3rd tier Chinese city circa 1990.

That is not a billbord. Just some korean-translated English sentences written on the U/C fence.
They just try to express written message more friendly, instead of saying "Off limits to unauthorized person, staff only or something like exclusion orders.
Nothing more nothing less.

Even the contruction company of this project hasn't started the advertisement yet.
More importantly, the clients of this project are mostly korean who don't care English writing on the fence.(Don't get me wrong, it dosen't mean I justfy using incorrect and broken English wrongly.)

My point is that you don't need to say "WTF" here at all.

about Developmental malfunction.

I'm really impressed of Busan. The two tallest skyscrapers are, when finished, both higher than the highest of NY (excluding the spire). The city is also extremely well situated, between sea and mountains, and it has a relatively mild climate which makes it's appealling for Koreans to live there. There aren't many economically strong city's in the world with nice beaches, surrounded by mountains, with a nice climate and with a skyline that's within a few years impressive. Besides that, it's also save to live ánd to build high buildings: no tyfoons, no earthquakes and little criminality. I think this city will have a great future with an even greater skyline. And because of the enormous economical possibilities (situated between Japan and booming China, with a gigantic harbour as connection), I'm convinced that this supertall will be build and not be shortened. :)

It's not too far from them, but it's sort at the opposite end of Haeundae Beach from those and the I'Park Marina towers. If you're on the Gwangan bridge and you look NE, it'll all sort of look like one skyline.

the single biggest problem I have with Korean skylines is the number of twins.. while a few twins here and there looks good, if half the skyline is composed of twins/triplets etc, it just doesn't look natural, and I guess this project is no exception..

but something is always better than nothing, so hope this gets built! :D

The height has been reduced quite a lot since it was originally proposed, but it looks like things are going well for this project just the same.

It will be good addition to the skyline of Busan, but though I'm not so excited about it, looks like a rip off of we've the zenith.

Well, all of the skyscrapers in Busan are sort of organic looking, super-shiny towers. I think it works as an aquatic theme, what with the city being right on the ocean.

Construction will start in March.
