K14N February 27th, 2009, 04:59 AM ^^ Thanx! :) Rame nggaknya kayaknya tergantung waktu kedatangannya deh, klo musim liburan biasanya rame. Trus pas musim kemarau biasanya lebih rame, soalnya sunrise-nya lebih terbuka peluang terlihat. Ini aja kebetulan Desember saya dateng eh keliatan jelas sunrise-nya :) Western people lumayan lah, kemarin ketemu mungkin sekitar 30-40 orang gt. Kalau turis Asia kayaknya lebih banyak, cuma gak keliatan jelas deh, tampangnya mirip2 Indonesia aja (at least Chinese Indonesian). Volcano Types: Stratovolcano Calderas Summit Elev: 1810 m Latitude: 5.448°N Longitude: 95.658°E Seulawah Agam at the NW tip of Sumatra is an extensively forested volcano of Pleistocene-Holocene age constructed within the large Pleistocene Lam Teuba caldera. A smaller 8 x 6 km caldera lies within Lam Teuba caldera. The summit contains a forested, 400-m-wide crater. The active van Heutsz crater, located at 650 m on the NNE flank of Suelawah Agam, is one of several areas containing active fumarole fields. Sapper (1927) and the Catalog of Active Volcanoes of the World (CAVW) reported an explosive eruption in the early 16th century, and the CAVW also listed an eruption from the van Heutsz crater in 1839. Rock et al. (1982) found no evidence for historical eruptions. However the Volcanological Survey of Indonesia noted that although no historical eruptions have occurred from the main cone, the reported NNE-flank explosive activity may have been hydrothermal and not have involved new magmatic activity dochan June 16th, 2010, 05:10 PM http://www.volcano.si.edu/images/full/045001.jpg Anonymous photo, 1995. Volcano Types: Complex volcano Lava domes Summit Elev: 2801 m Latitude: 4.914°N Longitude: 96.329°E Peuet Sague is a large volcanic complex that rises to 2801 m in NW Sumatra. The volcano, whose name means "square," contains four summit peaks, with the youngest lava dome being located to the north or NW. This extremely isolated volcano lies several days journey on foot from the nearest village and is infrequently visited. The first recorded historical eruption took place from 1918-21, when explosive activity and pyroclastic flows accompanied summit lava-dome growth. The latest of these produced the Young Toba Tuff (YTT) about 74,000 years ago. The YTT represents the world's largest known Quaternary eruption, ejecting about 2500-3000 cu km (dense rock equivalent) of ignimbrite and airfall ash from vents at the NW and SE ends of present-day Lake Toba. Resurgent doming forming the massive Samosir Island and Uluan Peninsula structural blocks postdated eruption of the YTT. Additional post-YTT eruptions include emplacement of a series of lava domes, growth of the solfatarically active Pusukbukit volcano on the south margin of the caldera, and formation of Tandukbenua volcano at the NW-most rim of the caldera. Historical eruptions from Gunung Talang volcano have mostly involved small-to-moderate explosive activity first documented in the 19th century that originated from a series of small craters in a valley on the upper NE flank. dochan June 24th, 2010, 05:59 AM http://www.volcano.si.edu/images/full/045012.jpg Anonymous photo, 1991. dochan June 24th, 2010, 06:34 AM lakes around Talang : Danau di bawah http://mw2.google.com/mw-panoramio/photos/medium/30041800.jpg by sandra eka (http://www.panoramio.com/user/2341442?with_photo_id=30041800) http://mw2.google.com/mw-panoramio/photos/medium/162906.jpg by wxpng (http://www.panoramio.com/user/30565?with_photo_id=162906) http://mw2.google.com/mw-panoramio/photos/medium/21953436.jpg by sandra eka (http://www.panoramio.com/user/2341442?with_photo_id=21953436) http://mw2.google.com/mw-panoramio/photos/medium/30040834.jpg by sandra eka (http://www.panoramio.com/user/2341442?with_photo_id=21953436) dochan June 24th, 2010, 06:38 AM Danau di Atas / Danau di Ateh http://mw2.google.com/mw-panoramio/photos/medium/25806716.jpg by Rahman Priadi (http://www.panoramio.com/user/1995256?with_photo_id=25806716) http://mw2.google.com/mw-panoramio/photos/medium/13318016.jpg by Adrian Prasetia (http://www.panoramio.com/user/1759599?with_photo_id=13318016) http://mw2.google.com/mw-panoramio/photos/medium/15599139.jpg by Luthfi Amara (http://www.panoramio.com/user/36909?with_photo_id=15599139) http://mw2.google.com/mw-panoramio/photos/medium/162980.jpg by wxpng (http://www.panoramio.com/user/30565?with_photo_id=162980) dochan June 25th, 2010, 08:59 AM 12. Kerinci http://www.volcano.si.edu/images/full/120030.jpg Volcano Types: Stratovolcano Summit Elev: 3800 m Latitude: 1.697°S Longitude: 101.264°E The 3800-m-high Gunung Kerinci in central Sumatra forms Indonesia's highest volcano and is one of the most active in Sumatra. Kerinci is capped by an unvegetated young summit cone that was constructed NE of an older crater remnant. The volcano contains a deep 600-m-wide summit crater often partially filled by a small crater lake that lies on the NE crater floor, opposite the SW-rim summit of Kerinci. The massive 13 x 25 km wide volcano towers 2400-3300 m above surrounding plains and is elongated in a N-S direction. The frequently active Gunung Kerinci has been the source of numerous moderate explosive eruptions since its first recorded eruption in 1838. dochan June 25th, 2010, 09:01 AM http://www.volcano.si.edu/images/full/064021.jpg The steep-walled, 600-m-wide summit crater of Kerinci volcano is seen from its southern rim.
