The new design looks much better. Old one looks too generic.

Man Asia is really booming! This would've been the WTB had it been approved 10-15 years ago but it's barely going to put a dent on the World's Highest list when it's completed.

국내 최대의 고양 차이나문화타운의 건립이 본격화된다.

고양시와 서울차이나타운개발㈜은 28일 경기도 고양시 일산서구 장항동의 킨텍스 지원시설 부지에서 차이나문화타운 1단계 사업 기공식을 개최한다고 밝혔다.

고양 차이나문화타운은 6만9천100여㎡에 단계적으로 상업시설, 업무시설, 숙박시설 등이 건립될 예정으로, 인천 차이나타운(2만5천여㎡)의 3배 가까운 국내 최대 규모다.

That is definitely not a copy, the design is just a little similar. And PTT are definitely a lot more elegant, that old proposal is just too stretched IMO.

Yes, i heard about this as well and it is impressive how they incorporated their culture into the building and made it so elegant and one of the best twin towers ever built. As with what other posts have said, i wouldn't call it copied but similar. If we pay atttention to all the buildings built today, regardless of its height, there are buildings which are similar to each other, which make sense as there is only a certain number of ways buildings can be designed.
