I want to go to South Africa for the 2010, World Cup, then I want to go to Nigeria then back to Brisbane.

I've checked Travel Agents online, and I've seen good Prices for flights to Capetown. (This of course will change by 2010), but I'm just planning ahead.

btw..The city I plan on flying to, depends on the cities that Nigeria will be playing in, if they make it to the world cup, if they don't it''ll have to be Brazil's Venues or Ivory Coast, Senegal, Angola, Egypt etc..Which ever of those countries qualify

I need to find out the prices of hotels in Johannesburg, Durban, Capetown and the other cities where matches will be held.

I also need to find out how much it will cost me to travel between the major cities in South Africa.

Also how expensive is food in S.A...cheaper than most places?

And for people that have been to Nigeria or Ghana etc..Like Kulani..Approx How much would it cost to head for Nigeria after the World Cup?

Thanks in Advance..

Woohoo World Cup Here I come....:banana2: :cucumber:

from Joburg to Lagos, you are looking between $700 - $800 return on Virgin Nigeria. I don't know much about the trip from Brisbane to Joburg. I have sometimes seen really good deals around $600 when you book in advance or during quite seasons. As for food prices, i will just give you some examples starting from fast food, to exclusive restaurants.

Fast food prices at an exchange rate of R7 = $1

Nandos (king of hot chicken - Portuguese flavors)

- 1/4 Chicken,rice And Roll = R19.95 = $2.85
- 1/4 Chicken Meal With 500ml Coke = R29.95 = $4.3
- 1/2 Chicken Meal With 500ml Coke = R47.95 = $6.85
- 1/4 Chicken ( Only) = R15.95 = $2.3
- 1/2 Chicken (only) = R31.75
- Full Chicken ( Only) = R62.95
- Jumbo Chips = R19.95
- Large Chips = R14.95
- Regular Chips = R10.95

Steers (Burger King type)

Steer Burger = R18.00 = $2.6
King Steer Burger = R28.90 = $4.2
King Chicken Burger = R31.90 = $4.5
Half Rack(350g) & Chips = R54.90 = $7.8
Mega Ribs(700g) & Chips = R90.00= $12.8

Ocean Basket (for the seafood lovers)

World Famous Fish & Chips = R38.00 = $5.42
Oyster Platter {12] = R113.00 = $16.2
Prawn special = R64.00 = $9.2
Seafood Platter For 1 = R86.00 = $12.3
Combo Kingklip & Prawns = R102.00= $14.6

St Elmos (Pizza)

Margherita Pizza - Large = R36.90 = $5.3
Meaty Deluxe - Large = R54.90 = $7.8
Tikka Chicken - Large = R52.90 = $7.5

Top end restaurants

As an indication i went to a top end exclusive restaurant in a yuppy place with 3 friends
and we were able to have dinner for a total of 485.00 rands (i.e. $72.00) including drinks.

So on average that means each one of us spent R161.00(i.e. $24.00). You could
probably spend less in some really good chain type restaurants like Spur which also
offer good food too. A good bottle of wine in a wine store should set you off around
R60 (i.e. $8.6), while a glass of 100% juice will probably be like R12 and a can of coke
will be R7 inside a restaurant.

The wild card here is going to be hotel accommodation. I expect prices to shoot up due to the demand at that time. Currently you are able to get a 3 star hotel for around $70 - $100 per night.

A 4 star can set you between $100 - $150 while 5 star will cost between $150 - $200.

Thanks Kulani..The prices for the flights seem like a good deal.

I've seen some deals Brisbane to Capetown around Aussie $1800, slightly weaker than US dollar..The hotel prices are really something..I'll probably only stay for Three Weeks.

The food prices are okay..

Yeah I think it's all good. I'll need a few grand.

Is that all I need to think about..Besides tickets of course
