That night pic looks great. I imagine with whatever lighting they have planned for this stadium it will be quite the sight at night on the telecast (or even better in person!)

DocentX April 20th, 2011, 05:40 PM That night pic looks great. I imagine with whatever lighting they have planned for this stadium it will be quite the sight at night on the telecast (or even better in person!) It already looks like huge UFO at night, with all those white and red lights at the top. It makes huge impression, specially when you cross Vistula river. I've seen lot's of stadiums in my life, but this one, due to location and size as well as the fact that it's located on a little artificial hill is something absolutely stunning  Polex April 20th, 2011, 05:44 PM http://img834.imageshack.us/img834/5878/panosn3.jpg DocentX April 20th, 2011, 11:22 PM http://bi.gazeta.pl/im/4/9474/z9474134X,Budowa-Stadionu-Narodowego---zdjecia-z-18-kwietnia.jpg http://bi.gazeta.pl/im/6/9474/z9474136X,Budowa-Stadionu-Narodowego---zdjecia-z-18-kwietnia.jpg DocentX April 20th, 2011, 11:52 PM nice pic : http://img69.imageshack.us/img69/8615/sam1596o.jpg DocentX April 21st, 2011, 10:57 AM http://img198.imageshack.us/img198/355/warszawa2aktualny1024.jpg PawciosS April 21st, 2011, 02:27 PM don't worry, a better stadium will host the final ;) I'd prefer Warsaw's stadium. You won't have to use binoculars to see the game, because Stadion Narodowy is a football stadium. Stadium in Kiev might be good, but for Athletics. POLSKA GOLA April 21st, 2011, 06:06 PM I'd prefer Warsaw's stadium. You won't have to use binoculars to see the game, because Stadion Narodowy is a football stadium. Stadium in Kiev might be good, but for Athletics. I actually like the kiev stadium,it will look stunning when completed. Yes,Stadium Narodowy will also be stunning but 70k is better for the final,58k not quite big enough IMO This business regarding Polish NT,i think all polish fans know our team s weak,we don't need reminding every day.:ohno: PiotrG April 21st, 2011, 06:33 PM 21.04.2010 http://img859.imageshack.us/img859/8691/p4210001.jpg http://img33.imageshack.us/img33/1556/p4210015.jpg http://img155.imageshack.us/img155/5254/p4210016.jpg http://img705.imageshack.us/img705/5967/p4210033.jpg http://img171.imageshack.us/img171/7646/p4210034.jpg http://img215.imageshack.us/img215/3476/p4210036.jpg http://www.skyscrapercity.com/showpost.php?p=76456007&postcount=25127 PiotrG April 21st, 2011, 06:34 PM http://img84.imageshack.us/img84/659/p4210038x.jpg http://img220.imageshack.us/img220/7730/p4210040p.jpg http://img192.imageshack.us/img192/7449/p4210041.jpg http://img196.imageshack.us/img196/3540/p4210042.jpg http://img815.imageshack.us/img815/9030/p4210043.jpg http://img64.imageshack.us/img64/7386/p4210044.jpg http://www.skyscrapercity.com/showpost.php?p=76456151&postcount=25128 PiotrG April 21st, 2011, 06:35 PM http://img831.imageshack.us/img831/2149/p4210045.jpg http://img146.imageshack.us/img146/8755/p4210046m.jpg http://img717.imageshack.us/img717/7334/p4210052f.jpg http://img709.imageshack.us/img709/3992/p4210053.jpg http://img713.imageshack.us/img713/1/p4210055.jpg http://img842.imageshack.us/img842/6349/p4210056.jpg http://www.skyscrapercity.com/showpost.php?p=76456289&postcount=25129 PiotrG April 21st, 2011, 06:36 PM http://img402.imageshack.us/img402/4111/p4210057.jpg http://img696.imageshack.us/img696/5297/p4210058.jpg http://img14.imageshack.us/img14/3448/p4210076.jpg http://img819.imageshack.us/img819/3088/p4210077.jpg http://img705.imageshack.us/img705/1974/p4210078.jpg http://img34.imageshack.us/img34/7927/p4210079.jpg http://www.skyscrapercity.com/showpost.php?p=76456375&postcount=25130 PiotrG April 21st, 2011, 06:37 PM http://img848.imageshack.us/img848/8841/p4210080.jpg http://img571.imageshack.us/img571/2270/p4210088.jpg http://img685.imageshack.us/img685/5120/p4210089.jpg http://img16.imageshack.us/img16/5590/p4210090w.jpg http://img600.imageshack.us/img600/2378/p4210091.jpg http://img218.imageshack.us/img218/2795/p4210092.jpg http://www.skyscrapercity.com/showpost.php?p=76456497&postcount=25131 PiotrG April 21st, 2011, 06:37 PM http://img852.imageshack.us/img852/4918/p4210093.jpg http://img15.imageshack.us/img15/3493/p4210095.jpg http://img690.imageshack.us/img690/4914/p4210097d.jpg http://img23.imageshack.us/img23/8922/p4210098.jpg http://img140.imageshack.us/img140/7156/p4210102.jpg http://img862.imageshack.us/img862/3799/p4210103.jpg http://www.skyscrapercity.com/showpost.php?p=76456673&postcount=25132 PiotrG April 21st, 2011, 06:39 PM http://img703.imageshack.us/img703/8704/p4210105.jpg http://img849.imageshack.us/img849/5061/p4210106.jpg http://img508.imageshack.us/img508/9970/dyma.jpg http://img13.imageshack.us/img13/4623/gorski.jpg http://img685.imageshack.us/img685/3953/panorama1mala.jpg http://img594.imageshack.us/img594/1024/panorama2mala.jpg http://img685.imageshack.us/img685/6255/panorama3mala.jpg http://img828.imageshack.us/img828/8411/panorama4mala.jpg http://img148.imageshack.us/img148/9818/panorama5mala.jpg http://www.skyscrapercity.com/showpost.php?p=76456837&postcount=25133 http://www.skyscrapercity.com/showpost.php?p=76457235&postcount=25134 Photos by zbieraj (http://www.skyscrapercity.com/member.php?u=166373). anze April 21st, 2011, 07:33 PM Stuning stadiu When will it be finished?? Not a COOL answer;) AshVentini April 29th, 2011, 10:45 AM I think the big amount of snow would take the whole roof down It's a risk... I wonder why they design such a tent like construction in a snow area like Poland? bedicooper April 29th, 2011, 10:47 AM if you take a close look at the veltins arena roof you will notice that the steel frame for membrane is different. http://cdn.bleacherreport.net/images_root/gallery_images/photos/000/661/919/GYI0062896520_crop_450x500.jpg?1293373090 the stripes are wide and "U" shaped – the middle part is lower then edges so snow can cumulate there and the loads exceeds maximum so membrane can tear. The arc on national stadium are to prevent that and move the snow aside to the gutters. And i assure you that steel structure is calculated for a lot bigger snow loads then average :) but, yes, theoretically everything can happen:) lets hope it wont. Edit: i think I've read somewhere about heating system for the roof to melt the snow but i'm not 100% sure so it needs confirmation. AshVentini April 29th, 2011, 10:57 AM if you take a close look at the veltins arena roof you will notice that the steel frame for membrane is different. http://cdn.bleacherreport.net/images_root/gallery_images/photos/000/661/919/GYI0062896520_crop_450x500.jpg?1293373090 the stripes are wide and "U" shaped – the middle part is lower then edges so snow can cumulate there and the loads exceeds maximum so membrane can tear. The arc on national stadium are to prevent that and move the snow aside to the gutters. And i assure you that steel structure is calculated for a lot bigger snow loads then average :) but, yes, theoretically everything can happen:) Its a good answer and makes sense of the concept. If you look at the covered membrane parts of roof the arch (radius) is smaller because of the material tension. It flattens it somewhat. This concept will work well for rain no doubt. But snow comes with ice and frozen rain. So i wonder if ice will build up in the center of arch and further snow / precipitation will collect or stick in the center to it and break? It may take a good downfall to do this, but I just wonder why they even consider this design here? Well, to that I don't know the answer. We can only speculate. Maybe membrane roof was chosen due to its relatively low weight? membrane garage, central spire, screens, they all are quite heavy. Maybe it was possible not to make a tent, but that would cause enlargements [both in cost and sizes] of the entire steel structure. or entirely different design [~ Chorzów, Kiev stadiums] and the concept was to achieve crown / basket looking shape. – notice that there will be no upper ring to make stadium "lighter" in perception. www.sercan.de April 29th, 2011, 01:00 PM Membrane is not so heavy like metal and better for the picth (more light). But on the other side it "swallows" the sound waves. IMO the we won't see the Schalke problem here. Schalke has got a different style. Thi one is like Stuttgart. Many small "hills" etc. _Mort_ April 29th, 2011, 01:46 PM http://bi.gazeta.pl/im/2/9511/z9511192X,Na-trybunach-bedzie-moglo-zasiasc-55-tys--osob--Powierzchnia.jpg Great pic  jacek_nl April 29th, 2011, 02:14 PM del kafarek April 29th, 2011, 07:09 PM http://www.23hq.com/1robi/photo/6688893/original Axelferis April 29th, 2011, 07:18 PM Your attempt of a" tilt shift" must be reworked man ;) You don't insist on the main aspect of the pic 'interest: the stadium just an opinion :) JeV April 29th, 2011, 07:18 PM Well, it's the worst tilt I've seen.... ever! :P DocentX April 30th, 2011, 09:48 AM new pic : Widoki ogólne z płyty http://img545.imageshack.us/img545/4376/img71724895703.jpg z trybun http://img191.imageshack.us/img191/2734/img71114910954.jpg http://img851.imageshack.us/img851/5205/img71244930979.jpg http://img832.imageshack.us/img832/7140/img71374945336.jpg pamirez April 30th, 2011, 11:16 AM this stadium is so huge...it's great. Managers of the stadium under construction in Warsaw said on their website on Wednesday they were postponing indefinitely the sale of tickets for what was to be the first event there on Aug. 6, a motocross competition. The decision by the National Sports Center comes after inspectors detected faulty assembly of the stadium's prefabricated steel-and-concrete steps that could pose a danger to users. If a complete reassembly is required then the opening planned for June 30 would be postponed by a month. Poland and Ukraine are co-hosting Euro 2012. Copyright © 2011 The Canadian Press. It's possible that they only need to be reinforced or even only have gaps refilled with binder. So let's not panic, we should have more news this week. Btw - opening was not at all planned for June 30th, as the Canadian Press news informs. This is the deadline for ocnstruction works to end, but then there's still a lot of work ahead of the opening, which is scheduled for August and for the time being it hasn't been postponed. The National Sports Centre, the body in charge of building the stadium, said it has given the building consortium working on the stadium a deadline of two weeks to fix all faults. 'We can no longer tolerate the [consortium's] stalling for time,' said Rafal Kapler, the centre's president. 'The delays are caused by bad organizations, not enough workers and not enough mobilization,' Kapler said, adding that the contract with the builders will be terminated if necessary. The stadium is being built by a consortium that includes the Austrian Alpine, and the Polish Hydrobudowa and PBG. The centre said the most serious problem was faulty construction of the stairs leading up to the stadium, which makes the top seats inaccessible. orland June 1st, 2011, 10:51 PM Do they mean those stairs? http://radikal.ua/data/upload/49112/05615/6b46064486.jpg PiotrG June 1st, 2011, 11:00 PM Yes. Considering that they practically played the B-Team and how the goal went in. I'm not sure to understand all things you wrote, and I apologize if I misunderstood. But if you consider that Poland played with a B-team, the french team played also with a B-team. Only Abidal and A. Diarra can be considered as members of the original team. And the french newspapers didn't praising anything. They were just disapointed of the previous matchs against Belarus and Ukraine and they were just expected more from this team. Against Poland, it was just a little bit better than the 2 previous matchs, and the french newspaper underlines that. That's all. The idea of the Programme is to make modern sports infrastructure available to children and youngsters to allow them to take up regular sports training. One of the problems of recent years has been the lack of a clear vision of sports infrastructure development in Poland. Development is chaotic and construction projects are often excessively costly. It is obvious that there is a shortage of modern sports facilities. One of the key tasks of the State is to ensure that the citizens are able to practise sports, regardless of their financial or social status. Hence, the forms in which sport is offered should be attractive enough to encourage as many people as possible to take up sport. According to the Strategy for the Development of Sports in Poland until 2015, the objective of the Ministry of Sports and Tourism is to narrow the gap between Poland and other European countries in this field. The achievement of this goal will require a much greater level of funding. Promotion of healthy lifestyle is one of the most important objectives and should be pursued with determination. Development of sports infrastructure will be very important in this context. We intend to put much emphasis on the promotion of active lifestyle, including family sports competitions and weekends with sport and tourism. Measures in this regard should be intensified as Poland and Ukraine have been chosen to host EURO 2012 and there is a need to promote this international event among the public. Government financial support is an important incentive for municipalities which consider the construction or modernization of sports facilities. The programme "My sports field – ORLIK 2012" is an important component of the Government's strategy in the field of development and promotion of sport. http://www.orlik2012.pl/index.php maxarch June 12th, 2011, 11:04 AM Great result for Polska over Argentina!
