View Full Version : Things you hate or love about your country/the city where you live!

So, me first.
Romania,generally Bucharest.
HATE:
-street ads (everywhere)
-cars everywhere, parked on sidewalks because of the big lack of real parking spaces.
-very small amount of pedestrian zones
-cables hanged on every god damn lighting pole there is
-degraded and "kitsch-y" urban furniture (examples: very bright yellow benches, blue/green/yellow trash bins made out of plastic, really ugly trafic stopping poles made out of plastic)
-mentality of people
-the stupid gypsies
-too many great and outstanding buildings that are left in a state of depravation, no real plan for their revitalization.
-the infrastructure works being done in such a way, that when their finished, the final result leaves you feeling sick.
-the 500 or so senators of the Romanian parliament. (IMO, TOO MANY! 95% of them are stupid scammers anyway, so why the big number?)
-the old commie building residents that extended their homes into the balcony to gain some space
-people that hang their laundry out on the balconies to dry (leaving underwear, pijamas etc. for everyone to see)
-the pavement used on some streets (streets out of which some are in the city center, for God's sake)
-the educational system (really too much bullshit in it, teachers don't know how to teach, you learn too much stuff mechanically, very small ammount of projects, very small ammount of live examples and experiments, everything you learn is generally learned by binding it into your memory forcedly.)
-about schools :The furniture inside classroms lacks (not talking about benches and seats). In my oppinion a classroom should be very welcoming, with lots of stuff in it, to spare the words, I'm gonna show you two examples.
Most of romanian school classrooms look like this: http://www.liceulcavnic.home.ro/imagini/Galerie%20Photo/clasa.jpg
While most of the classrooms from more civilised countries look like this:
http://www.frenchcentre.ubc.ca/images/ubc/jen-students.jpg
See the difference?
Love:
-the potential that the city and country have
to be continued with more things that I love. I love as many as I hate, but I have to run so I'll post it now and edit it later.

Inequality pisses me off big time … In fact, when I was living in Romania, this is what I used to actually kinda' like (get used to) – the fact that if you knew someone, you’d had the money, the connections, the right telephone number … every thing was (still is) possible :bash:

the structure of the cities/ urban area with regards to poverty, whole areas are made into ghettos that the government ignores exist, or care about;
the huge deluge of knowledge of most people with regards to geography or modern world politics; the use of race as an excuse for so many problems that need to be addressed, illegal immigration/ poverty/ social order; the republican party, and its stance on many issues; the lack of a well funded education, or universal health care; the war.
Like
the large amount of different groups of people; the suburban houses (i may hate that its so spread out, but boy i love having my own house)

It is hard to add new statements on this thread as it grows, but il will give my contribution to it.
For Romania:
Hate
-the huge majority of people with potential but without an open mind
-the excessive bureaucracy and the high taxes
-ugly gypsies which now poses some f*****g capital ($) which act and think like they are above everyone in this country
-stupid regional mentality for every corner and place of Romania, available for the capital also. We all are citizens of this world ! :)
-the fact that this nation does not have an attitude or ambition like some Asian countries and their phylosophy to fulfill a common objective.
-hate and disgrace the fact that current city halls in Romania does not have or use a good urbanism plan. And because of this there are signs of chaos in the achitecture of the major cities.
-polution and other negative environment aspects
-the complicated way we have here for doing simple things
-the huge distance of development, life stile and mentality in proportion to Western Europe or U.S.A
Love
-the women
-some of the tradional cuisine
-being somewhere "latin"
-traveling inside the country
-few optimist romanians
For the moment this is all. Actually, I am suprised how the things we hate always comes first  . Probably this should make us lift an eyebrow  .

What I hate in Bulgaria the most are those two hardcoded ways of thinking in most people here:
1) The most important thing is to live better even if this means that I should fuck someone up. I don't care about anyone but me.
2) What is private is private. What is public belongs to everyone thus I feel free to fuck it up cause it's mine too.

^^ I like the mosque in Sofia :) It's after all the only muslim temple in the capital. I ilke the fact that in a distance of 200-300 metres between each other right in the very center of Sofia there are a muslim Mosque , a Catholic Cathedral , a Jewesh Sinagogue and an Orthodoxal Church ... It's like you've got the major religions in the world living peacefully in Bulgaria.
The romanian church is very close to those 4 too

I`m not going to list the things I like because everyone loves his motherland and I`ll just repeat what was said by the people before me.
So, what I dislike/hate about Bulgaria and Macedonia is:
Bulgaria
1)communists, socialists, social-democrats, panslavists etc
2)the lack of respect towards the institutions
3)the laziness and those what we call "Balkan mentality"
4)the nihilism among the young generations
5)the corruption which even reaches the highest levels of the government
6)better than MKD 6) due to the better integration of the minorities but still there are some serious problems which sometimes drive me crazy
7)the lack of desire for dialogue and open discussion with Macedonia about the historical controversies.
Macedonia
1)the same as BG 1) plus the jugo-nostalgia which is very wide-spread, especially among the older generations
2)similar to BG 2) but in Macedonia the situation is better in that aspect
3)the same as BG 3)
4)the same as BG 4)
5)similar to BG 5) but again Macedonia is at least a bit better
6)extremely big rights for the minorities, especially for the Albanians who are ******* ** the country and prevent it from faster development. This is definitely the thing I hate most.
7)the same as BG 7) but here I`ll add 3 names
-Dragan Latas(The people who accuse him for being serbophile are wrong. He isn`t and can`t be serbophile because actually he is ethnic Serb...)
-Alexander (Make)Donski(A person who doesn`t have even elemenary academic historical education but writes books about history...)
-Branko Crvenkovski(Ethnic Serb, born in Sarajevo, who somehow decided to become Macedonian and took the surname of his wife Jasmina Crvenkovska in order to legitimize his new Macedonian identity...Exactly the same person who ordered the Albanian flags to be removed from Western Macedonia and later officially allowed them to get support by the Albanians)

oOoOOO...you have any MK origins?
Ivailo
December 3rd, 2007, 11:41 PM
Depends on what is your definition for MK origin.
If you understand under Macedonian a geographical concept, then, yes, I`ve Macedonian origin but if you refer to the Macedonians as a separate "non-Bulgarian" ethnic group, then I don`t have any Macedonian origin.
bgrs
December 3rd, 2007, 11:59 PM
OK, so you're the benevolent dictator and you decide :)
Don't get ignited now :) I can completely understand you being a Bulgarian :) On the other hand, there's something you should know which is tightly connected with about 1.3 million people you are refering to. And that one is the reality and why the reality is not what you expected to be is a matter of....errr...many factors.
Anyway, yours is not a very mature position...it's kind of super-nationalistic one. Do you really think that Macedonia is the biggest problem to us Bulgarians or what? Don't you think that some guys are trying to move the focus from some important internal issues to that overrated Macedonian (say it FYROM, geographical term or whatever) ones? It's not that Macedonia is not perhaps the most important foreign country for Bulgarians for a number of reasons including the most important one: we are very closely related with them, like no other country around. It's the fact that many people (including you) are just following some trend you don't quite much consider carefully.
Anyway, that's just my opinion. But I don't think our relations with Macedonia will get any better with all those things. I just prefer to leave those guys alone...for a good period of time. Future will show us who is right and who isn't, don't you think so?
bgrs
December 4th, 2007, 12:39 AM
OK...to make it clearer, you know, thousands Bulgarians died there...I don't think they died just because they wanted this what we observe now, to be separated and constantly bitching about all kinds of stuff, historic, political, etc. They should have died for something more valuable than that. Just like all the Russians, Romanians, Serbs, Armenians and Greeks that died for our own liberation. These simple things should be respected and we should leave all those bullshits to stupid historians and politicians and their stupid disputes. We must not be anything like them after all..
Ivailo
December 4th, 2007, 12:53 AM
It`s realism, not nationalism:)
Hearing that Goce Delchev, Dame Gruev, Jane Sandanski, Todor Alexandrov, Tsar Samuil, Petar-Delyan are Bulgarians definitely make some people feel offended but the same is in force for me when I listen how the Bulgarian language is dialect of ancient Macedonian...
The truth sometimes really hurts but the history can`t or at least shouldn`t be manipulated.
bgrs
December 4th, 2007, 01:00 AM
^^ OTOH, if you just believe that Macedonians=Bulgarians...that shouldn't bother you, isn't it? So what's the problem? :)
Truth hurts...hm..IMO truth doesn't matter very much here. See what's going on and tell me how do you define that "truth"...everyone likes to speak about his truth. It's not at all a constructive thing I think.
Ivailo
December 4th, 2007, 11:12 AM
I claim that the modern days Macedonians are Bulgarians because they recognise ethnic Bulgarians for their national heroes. If ethnic Bulgarians are their national heroes, consequently they themselves are Bulgarians too but after they deny their Bulgarian origin, then they don`t have the moral right to be descendants of those Macedonians for whom the term Macedonian was only geogrpahical concept.
For one reason or another Greece and Cyprus are seperate countires just like Romania and Moldova, Serbia and Republica Srpska, Bulgaria and Macedonia but I`ve never heard Cypriot, Moldovan or citizen of Republica Srpska to manipulate and falsify the history.
When Macedonia conducted a referendum for leaving Jugoslavia, Bulgaria was the first country that recognise it and when Mitsotakis and Misoshevich offered Zhelev division of todays Macedonia, he rejected the proposal, no matter that we would get 50% of the territory whereas Greece and Serbia would share the other 50%.Furthermore most of the countries that recognised Macedonia in the first months did it mainly due to their relations with Bulgaira.Russia was the first country with the status of world factor which recognised Macedonia and it happened during the visit of Boris Eltsin in Bulgaria due to insistence of Bulgaria.
The first question is why Bulgaria helped Macedonia and what was the Macedonian gratitude? The first answer is that we recognised them immediately because everyone in Bulgaria thought that they will join us as Eastern Rumelia did in 1885.The second answer.....
Concerning what is "The Truth" and how many truths are there, ofcourse there is only one truth. The one which is "The Truth" for all historians over the world except of the historians from two Balkan countries seeking world conspiration against them:)

What I can't understand is how polish skinheads fatarse lazy dushbags can complain about anything, I mean Poland has no immigration to speak off, (who in there mind would want to live in Poland comes to mind) and these skinhead pricks and low life scumbags go around attacking hard working Poles, to make it worse they are all drug dealers, or involved in some form of organized crime.
I think you should kill them all, honestly, they are all Nazi pigs, in WW2 they'd be ones supporting Nazi Germany, considering Polish past, I'd really think eliminating every single skinhead would be right things to do, If I was a Pole.
I mean in one move you;d eliminate undesirable elements of your society, reduce crime rate, tax burden (most skinheads are unemployed and cost and are burden for honest tax payers) and improve average IQ rate.

Raw if you don't see the difference you are really sick person.
Skinheads support Nazi ideology, and Nazi ideology is what any sensible, intelligent person should hate.
BTW, Nazis killed 12 million ppl in concentration camps, 6 million Jews, 2 million Roma, and 4 million others, Nazi ideology is something I hate deep down of my being, I can't stand them.
As to your jokes, they were racist, ignorant and for that you were given a warning.

Lets see...why is it more racist saying "all gypsies steal" than saying "all muslims are terrorists"? Maybe because it depends on the POV? You spend too much time in a fairy tale. Come to EE, and see for yourself, our POV is not racist. Its a fact.

"all gypsies steal" than saying "all muslims are terrorists"? - you said either of these in UK, you'd end up in prison and after that deported, suffice to say you'd never be able to travel to Australia, US and Canada or New Zealand, You see All UK's colonies and US prohibit convicted person an entry.

Wow. Staying alone in major parts of town would mean being beaten up by gypsies. No kidding.
And you educate gypsies you'd eliminate most problems, but you Hungarians just hate them, no wonder they hate you back and steal.
Ignorant. You are one too. We send parents to prison if they dont force their children to attend school. Then build houses free for them. Most hungarians working an entire life, and still have less then what they are given for free. who do you think you are to tell us what to do? Or what we are?
Gypsies steal..lets see where...recently Spain and France. Then there is Slovakia,CZ,Romania,Ukraine,Bulgaria,Poland, etc, etc. Its not us. Its them. In this case, its not racism. Its the lesson life taught these EE nations. Take them,if you wish. Still,I dont wish them death. You do. So stop the nonsense of "I hate nazis so I have the right to cast death upon them".
And no, not all Muslims are terrorist, very small, tiny minority of radicals are.
Good. Neither believe I.

Why was the quota system, later the ghetto-thing introduced? Because of that (totally fictitious) reason, because jews were the holders of not "industrial wealth" but "bank wealth",which was deemed "not ayran".
BTW,I do not agree with such views, whatever your impression is, and I'm not a racist. You are full of hatred.
And again, you wished death upon other people,I never did,and never will. This makes all your points invalid regarding me and "racism".;)

That just proves that the countries mentioned above are undemocratic and supress freedom of speech. They are SO politically correct, it sickens me. They promote immigration and the building of mosques, even after more than one terrorist attack perpetrated by people that shout "Allahu Akbar" when they blow themselves up. Now that is stupid, creating safe havens for the enemy on your own territory. Not that I have anything against REAL moderates, but the priority should be protecting ourselves from potential danger, I'm sure they can understand that.
And you educate gypsies you'd eliminate most problems, but you Hungarians just hate them, no wonder they hate you back and steal.
I hate them too, as do almost all educated Romanians. They tarnish our country's image with their behavior. They are lazy, they don't go to school and educate themselves, they steal instead of working. Though I really don't think they should be killed or anything, just forced to change their primitive culture and manners that don't suit the 21st century.
And no, not all Muslims are terrorist, very small, tiny minority of radicals are.
Maybe, but why haven't I seen any mass-protests by moderate Muslims denouncing Al-Qaida, Bin Laden and their ilk? Why does no one react to this corruption of Islam's allegedly "peaceful" message by terrorists?

Fantastic discussions here. Death to every single human being (except me and a bunch of hand picked hot girls)! There it is, I've said it and feel better now that I've unleashed my dark part! Puny mortals!:D Now back on topic...
As perverted as it sounds... I'll do Romania.
I LOVE
-the landscape of the country
-the language (though I'd prefer English to be my first language to be honest)
-the girls
-the flag & the national anthem
-Peleş castle
-some ski resorts and the mountains around them
-Cişmigiu park in Bucharest
-observing the city waking up at 6 in the morning
-Danube delta
-that we are finally in NATO & EU
-the potential of this country
I HATE
-stupid and/or ignorant people (a very good part of the population if you ask me)
-the villages (it's like stepping back in time)
-dirty cities, dirty streets, dirty people
-beggars on the street, and in the public transport
-politicians
-pollution
-racism and retarded mentalities
-that many people think they're so much better than others just because they're Romanians
-commie apartment blocks in Bucharest and other cities
-that we don't have a real river flowing through Bucharest
-the inefficient education system
-corruption at all levels
-unexploited potential of this country
-our general hate towards Hungarians (but not only)
-the idiots that steal and kill in other countries, making us look like a bunch of savages
-poor infrastructure
-that Romania's flag carrier has stopped flying to New York, Toronto and Beijing
-people that constantly complain about... ANYTHING
-that too many people believe there's a God and are somewhat fanatic over it
... and many more things.:bash:

Most decent and educated Poles are leaving Poland bc you have idiots in charge, i hope you ppl elect someone decent next time.
Erm in relation to that fact above we do have some immigration although most are Ukrainians, Russians and Moldovans. Oh and Poland is a beautifull prospering nation, i dont see why people would not want to live there.
look we got our first BLack bus driver in Warsaw
http://bi.gazeta.pl/im/6/4730/z4730306Z.jpg
And Just to let you know most decent educated Poles actually stay in Poland because you can make a good living for yourself and its better to be part of an economy on the UP and close to your family. ALot has changed since 2004
Oh we had our elections in October btw and we elected alot more competent government than in 2005 thats for sure.
BTW Poland is a liberal democracy and we dont supress freedom of expression, so people can be bald as long as they dont discriminate. The death penalty is also abolished so killing Skinheads is out of the question. Though making them go to Saudi Arabia would seem a lovely punishment

About Harry Potter - the author was inspired by the football team of Bulgaria from 1994 and is writting about the NT of Bulgaria on the Final of the Kwidich World Cup or sort of fantasy game .
Viktor Krum (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Viktor_Krum#Viktor_Krum) was a Seeker for the Bulgarian Quidditch team. In the 1994 Quidditch World Cup title game between Bulgaria and Ireland, he suffered a severe bloody nose during the match and caught the Snitch as quickly as he could to end the match, which handed victory to Ireland because Bulgaria was trailing by 160 points at the time.

true that's correct. But I don't get this proud thing (I'm not criticizing you for this we all do the very same thing).
He was not a great scientist because of his origins, but because he was smart and equality important because he lived in a country/society which provided the circumstances and the motive to achieve such great goals. If they didn't go to New York , Milano etc. etc. they were probably never gonna be famous or so good singers , but that doesn't change the fact that they are of bulgarian origin.

In a sense... yes. He invented the concept, just like Babbage invented the concept of the computer. But I don't really think too much about who first came up with x thing... cause it's very hard to point to that moment in time when something as complex as a computer or helicopter was invented. They were many people that contributed to what we now know as computers for example...

Very true, dewrob!:) The same goes for many other scientists from our countries... it's rather the Americans, French, British or Germans who have more reasons to be proud.
yes that's much more accurate Cosmin, but even than its not so simple. America is such a great country, among many other things because there are poor nations in the world who do much of the dirty work which makes easier for them to concentrate their resources on R&D for example. Or the British empire was so strong again among many other reasons because it sucked shitloads of resources from its colonies.
Therefore we are all creators (maybe equally important) in the developments and advances of human kind regardless if some of us have an insignificant role in the process at first glance. In a way this is symbiosis.
Hence assigning a national tag to some human advance, achievement or whatever is utterly wrong. It's all world heritage.

Nicolas Sarkozy is the son of a Hungarian immigrant father, Pál Sárközy de Nagy-Bócsa (Hungarian: nagybócsai Sárközy Pál; some sources spell it Nagy-Bócsay Sárközy Pál; Hungarian pronunciation ) and a mother of French Catholic and Greek Jewish descent, Andrée Mallah. His Greek-born grandfather, Benico Mallah (former Aaron Mallah), was a physician from Thessaloniki. Benico, who left for France to become a doctor, was the son of Mordechai Mallah, one of the eight sons of Aaron Mallah, founder of the Rabbinical School of Thessaloniki.

I can't see here someone assigning the invention of the computer to Bulgaria. But should we neglect the fact that John Atanasoff , the man who designed and built the first electronic, digital computer (non-programmable) was of Bulgarian origin , especially when the guy was not ashamed of the fact and was even carying and curious to know more about the country of his father when he was still alive ?

Let's take Henri Coandă for example, considered to be the inventor of the first jet powered aircraft. The guy was born and raised in Romania. He's father was Romanian, he's mother Romanian of French descent. At 18 he went to Berlin, then to Belgium, where he met Caproni, then to France (Paris). It's true he's Romanian and he returned to Romania several times, but can his scientific ascent be regarded as Romania's merit? I doubt. So I'm a bit wary of this overrated pride we all have (more or less) about these scientists and inventors.
I won't write here again ever ... All I see is some stupid 'EXTREMELY PROUD' idiots , who never will accept the fact that Bulgaria has given much to the world, and is much more important that other Balkan countries.

true that's correct. But I don't get this proud thing (I'm not criticizing you for this we all do the very same thing).
He was not a great scientist because of his origins, but because he was smart and equality important because he lived in a country/society which provided the circumstances and the motive to achieve such great goals. Had he stayed in Bulgaria he probably wouldn't have done anything close to that similarly as Tesla probably wouldn't have developed wireless transfer of electricity.
We are two in this.
I can't say I am proud. I have an immense respect for people like him and many others. The fact that Atanassoff for instance, has Bulgarian origins, and it seems his descendants are proud of it, makes it just easier for me to understand where he came from, what he managed to achieve and respects him more than I would do if he didn't have those origins. But it's a question of understanding. If he wasn't "Bulgarian" I just wouldn't know that much about him- it's simple.
Now I have myself some other things I am proud of, which may seem rather strange to the majority of people. Everyone can chose. But I would so much prefer if people are not proud with celebrities but rather take them as role-models. If all the Bulgarians take the reasoning of Levski concerning the ideal for Bulgaria, the sensibility of Botev, the political wisdom of.. let's say Boris-Michail, I would jump from joy :)
And if someone is interested what I am prod of, take a look at this:
VUacgOhFERA
I am not only proud of this because I made a tiny, tiny participation in all this. I am proud because tons of people like me managed to prove themselves another tons of things and all this without victims.

This is so serious, though I wish it was not. I hate those HHungarian parties in Romania who stir things up between Romanians and Hungarians like they shouldn't or needn't, and behave like full fledged communists, which start to bug me more than the Romanian extremist parties.
Just a small recent example, following a referendum on local territorail autonomy in 2 regions in Romania dominated by Hungarian minority, the police discovered hundreds of voting bulletins burned in a garbage bin which were marked with the NO stamp (as in, the voters disagreed with the autonomy, many of them Hungarians)...and such parties seem to have burned and thrown them to the garbage bin....:bash:
I hate when politicians play with peoples' lives in the most perfect communist and non-democratic way just to get more votes and to get some goals in a totally unfair way. :bash:

OK.
That Bulgaria is the oldest country in Europe.
No, Byzantia for example is older. Today, there is no more Byzantia, yet at the same time where was that Bulgarian country 2 centuries ago?
That Bulgaria is the birthplace of the Cyrillic Alphabet
The birthplace was Solun/Thessaloniki which is not Bulgarian, but Byzantine.
That Bulgaria is visited yearly by about 7 million tourists
It is about 5 million, not 7, official data.
That Bulgaria has the largest IMAX3D Cinema in the world
The biggest one is in Sydney, Australia
That Bulgaria has the largest Sports Complex in Europe
And which is that?
.That Bulgaria's civilized history dates back more than six millennia
Sadly, "Bulgaria" was unknown word back then for sure.
That Bulgaria hosts the biggest observatories in Eastern Europe
Rozhen observatory is the biggest one in SE, not EE. And if you replace "observatories" with "observatory" you'll be more correct.
That the National Palace of Culture was proclaimed the best congress centre in the world.
By who?
That The American College of Sofia is the oldest American institution outside the United States
You see, there were American embassies long before we got our Independance in 1878.
That The central park of Sofia - ''Borisova Gradina'' is actually larger than ''Central Park'' in New York.
From the Sofia Municipality site:
Описание: Парк "Борисова градина"
Граници: югозапад - подстанция "Юнак"; югоизток - алея; североизток - игрища и спортни площадки; северозапад - алея посока стадион "ЦСКА";
Паспортизация: 1986 г.
Обща площ: 14981 кв.м;
From Wikipedia:
Central Park is a large public, urban park (843 acres, 3.41 km˛, 1.32 mi˛; a rectangle 2.5 statute miles by 0.5 statute mile, or 4 km × 800 m) in the borough of Manhattan in New York City
That Bulgaria is the largest producer of AK-47 , after Russia .
It WAS.
That Microsoft Bulgaria , is the largest Microsoft producer in Eastern Europe.
Microsoft does not have a R&D center in Bulgaria and Microsoft Bulgaria does not produce anything. It HAS the biggest call-centre in SE though.
The Photocopy technique and the Photocopy machine , were invented by a Bulgarian Scientist.
A Bulgarian discovered the photoelectric polarization effect. But the inventors of the first photocopy machines were actually Americans.
In it's military history , Bulgaria never lost a flag captured by a enemy army.
It is true but after 1878.
The Ferris wheel was invented in Bulgaria.
I'd like to see some proof to that claim
Varna is on 2nd place in the ''Cities with most beautiful women in the world '' chart.
Who made that chart? The 24 chasa newspaper?

Neah, they're all the same. Dumb twats.:)
I don't give a shit about their so called referendum... there are many Hungarians from that region that don't want to hear about autonomy. They say they've grown with Romanians around them, they're together both in bad and good and that this autonomy thing is just political bullshit. But this is off-topic here. We can move this discussion on the appropriate DLM thread if you want. Maybe we can have a sort of flame war barbeque or something... who's inviting Van&Dyk? I'll bring the pork chops!
bgrs, I wouldn't waste my time with that guy.;) And btw, that bs about Sofia's central park being larger than NY's Central Park seems to be some regional bs story. I've heard a few people in Bucharest claiming Herăstrău park in Bucharest is larger than Central Park, so...

February 27th, 2008, 08:11 PM
Volen Siderov (Bulgarian: Волен Сидеров) (born 19 April 1956) is a controversial Bulgarian politician and chairman of the far right nationalist party Attack. He is famous for his hard-line attitude towards minorities in Bulgaria, especially Roma and Turks.
[...]
Siderov has been stigmatized and rejected as a populist and a xenophobe by virtually the entire Bulgarian establishment, including the mainstream media and political parties. He has been in the centre of a number of scandals, notably a notorious car accident on the Trakia highway. Siderov claimed that the incident had been an "assassination attempt", whereas the other driver asserted that Siderov's collaborator Pavel Chernev had broken his car window, punctured his tyres, hit him and threatened to kill him. Chernev at first confirmed Siderov's version, but later stated that Siderov had ordered him to give false testimony; he has since left the parliamentary group to create a rival nationalist organization. Siderov had allegedly been trying to conceal the fact that his driver had been Lyubomir Bakardzhiev, a man with criminal record — according to testimony by Chernev and Bakardzhiev himself.
WHAT?! He seems like a lovely guy!:D

I see that this is mainly off-topic thread but when someone writes something historical or any stuff of that kind that you don't like you post some very strong and critical position.
yeah I'm a lunatic cause I'd like to enjoy my time on a skyscraper, architecture and construction forum without being followed around by frustrated maniacs who get a hard on on people and events 100s of years old and try to stuff their erection in other peoples face  Don't you have many other forums on the net to do such things BTW?
But now I see you actually enjoy makin' fun especially iabout BGR discussions.
oh yeah that's why I registered, you blew my cover now
And comparing all Bulgarians who you disagree to Volen is kinda dull.
so where did I do this genius :)
Well I think that this is very hypocritical from your side.
:sleepy::sleepy::sleepy:
I think your grand-grand-grandpa Alexander the Great wouldn't be glad.
What the hell do I have to do with Alexander the Great :dunno:
Btw if you only knew what some very high Russian figure said about this "great" state of yours  during Moscow delegation visit in Sofia. But i prefer to kept it for myself :)
do I really care what some politician somewhere says? I'm glad you are enjoying it though.
Actually did the Americans came with an appropriate name for it yet:lol: I guess they're running some sms game or something. I prefer something more moder and futuristic like Republic of Skopie-Macedonia-Mars sounds very grooovy
let's see, trying to be funny I guess.... :hahano::hahano::hahano::hahano::hahano::hahano::hahano::hahano:
oh wait that wasn't funny you were just being a rude jerk
Relax Ivanski the world doesn't revolve around Bulgaria nor its history... There are far more important and interesting things out there.
Take it easy buddy

Well I'm takin' it easy dude. I'm just not OK with the way you are trying to be ironic with most of the Bulgarian users. I think its quite a big challenge for a citizen from a country that hasn't even got an official name and waits for some politicians to come with one. Oh I forgot you don't care about them :)
And talking about me being a rude jerk :
frustrated maniacs;try to stuff their erection Thanks man you're obviously a very gentle person indeed.

But hey, dewrob...

this is where you're wrong.:ohno:
People should know that Bulgaria is the main power source for all other (poor) Balkan countries.

hey Ivanski :) Don't waste your time buddy. I really find you as a very fresh newcommer to the forum in the last couple of days. Don't wanna loose you for some stupid reason. Especially Macedonia related. :okay: stay cool , brother !

Well i see bein' sarcastic about Bulgaria is the top-fun around here.
I don't see any subforum for Bulgaria, or as many Bulgarian threads as the other EE states do have. But someone's got the impressions that for Bulgarians the world is turning around Bulgaria and its history - haha very funny.:ohno:
Well at least we have one.
Turnovec you're right dude. it's a waste of time to even try to make a normal point.

you are on the forum for two days and you've figured it all out eh :). That's quite a big challenge even for someone from Bulgaria.

The name thing again? Come on think of something new, shuffle it up...

well let's see our case... There is a never a flame war in a Bulgarian thread caused by us... but there is a regular flame war caused by some Bulgarians in Macedonian threads... quite indicative I'd say.

Well Dewrob he hasn't got the privilege to live in an artificial country. So he can't be that normal and sane as the Serbs and "Macednoians" are.
But the good thing is that now I can watch how those made-up product states are getting erased by their own creators. Isn't it ironic? So I'm not gonna waste my time in these thread I'm just going to get some popcorn lay back and enjoy the Mythbusters show in the upcoming years.

He worked with Wernher von Braun in the 1960s to send astronauts into orbit, and in the 1990s helped build a start-up, Time Domain, that could be important to the next 20 years of wireless communications.
WOW! I guess this is one of those genius guys you rarely hear about till the day they die and then never again.:(

^^ Ivanski i just heard about Petar Petroff , found his biography extra-ordinary and quite entertaining and wanted to share it with the rest of you ... He found it boring to learn to be a priest in Seminariata, Sofia, ande escaped and joined the French Foreign Legion  later the Germans captured him while invading France but released him for being Bulgarian ... he ended up in King Boris' palace guard ... and when the russians and commies came in power he faced a death penalty  Later escaped to USA and worked with Verner fon Braun , in the Gemini and Appolo programs , made the first digital watch ... etc. ... What a life this guy led , a ?

BTW, Nazis killed 12 million ppl in concentration camps, 6 million Jews, 2 million Roma, and 4 million others, Nazi ideology is something I hate deep down of my being, I can't stand them.
Where did you get those numbers? OR are you willing to spreading lies about others.
Simply have an decent look at the constantly changing numbers, issued by official media, politcians etc.:
