Of all the jaw-dropping projects in all the great cities of Russia, this must me one of the best i've seen so far - and it gets bonus point from me for coming to us from KALININGRAD:yes:

«The Baltic forum» - new model of the theater - the multifunctional city center, center of cultural life of region. The environment of a theatrical building is a huge amphitheater, the townspeople's hall inverted on the theatrical square and the Nidgnui pond. By authors plan life should boil all day and night in this place due to the inclusion in the program of cafe, restaurants and the exhibition spaces leaving to the covered planted trees and shrubs theater square. Emerald stained-glass window of a theater building and under tribune spaces, as if the huge wave raise from a pond, injects Baltic breath enclosed in a Gothic covering lattice in the city center.

Just to add, the highrise models next to the "Baltic Forum" re renderings of a project called "Kalinngrad-City" (Almost every major highrise project in Russia is called ___-City). Supposedly, construction is supposed to start next year, but my gut feeling tells me that it will suffer the same fate as the Besix Tower (KM should be familiar).

It's a local zimnik (winter-only road) and it is not in use in warm months.

Some cities at Russian Far North have no road link to Mainland at all - build a road thru thousands of kilometers in waste tundras is unefficient. So those cities can be accessible only by air or by sea/river.

At long northern winters, when swampy land is frozen, winter roads are maintained too. But in summer - it is impossible to reach those cities by car, and guys on photos prove it.

Russia is TOO big, and in Siberia you can't build a road anywhere you want.

We call zimnik the basement of the ordinary bulgarian house, where usually big supplies of food products, cans, meat delicacies, barrels with home made wine or high spirit drinks are kept. I have heard stories how ordinary russians get shocked when they see a bulgarian house's zimnik. :) After seeing all the alcohol and food they usually say that if they had this in their russian home , they wouldn't need to go to work. :)

There is many words that sounds similar, but mean different. When I was in former Yugoslavia, my guide ask me not use the Russian word "spichka" (match) in public, because in Serbian this word sounds like something completely different )))

But Budapest (which is in CE too and comparing Budapest, Prague, Krakow etc. with Gdynia is quite funny) is lucky to have Vaci utca as well which does not have an equivalent in Gdynia. Actually Gdynia might as well be the ugliest city in whole Poland.

I think some people are being a little unfair to Gdynia and to Delfin_Pl...
The downtown area looks very clean and well kept, and also the style of architecture isn't "commie". It has a name - constructivism (1930-40) and art moderne (1920-1930), and I happen to find it very attractive. Even the suburban areas that were urbanized during the communist period look better than average... I think Delfin is just proud of his city which is generally a good thing...

In London I asked the way. old guy suspiciously looked at me. Are you polish? - he sked. No. Than he showed me the way. He said that he would send me out of the city because polish <censored many time :)> in this city. Also working in UK I saw how they act. Usually crazy religious, thinking that Poland is superpower etc. but living in dirt blah blah blah. usually they never rose to the better position at work. Despite immigrants from Latvia who studied language fas, rose up, changed works. Some even open their own small business during 2 years. That what I saw in UK.
P.S. My grandfather was polish. He was from slahtic or how do you write it. Very rich anyway. All prosperity was nationalized, robbed, destroyed by commies in 1940 anyway :D

Recently, in another thread I answered a question like that. It was again some thread about Serbia vs Poland and stuff like that. Basically, my country suffered a lot because of that wars in Serbia despite we were not bombed by NATO (thanks God, our idiot politicians are not as dumb as the Serbian ones). Mostly due to the huge economic losses because of the embargo, all the organized crime associated with that (I mean illegal exports and stuff) and the fact that the Balkans became notorious for political instability and for years, noone wanted to invest here. It was a war in ex-Yugoslavia, but all the region suffered badly because of that.

Please tell me, I'm desperately trying to escape the misery of that ugly fucked by the EU Bulgaria. I'm considering Bosnia a a refugee option. Slovenia is not an option - they've changed Belgrade for Bruxelles and now they are paying even more to support the poor regions, that's right, so Slovenia should be some kind of a deprived country. KM is on crack again.

Only Russia has better quality of life than Serbia. But that's because it's slightly larger than Serbia :)

No, quality of life is much better in Srbija than in Russia. GDP and HDI statistics are flawed. After seeing the photos on the Serbian subforum, I was convinced they were a 1st world country (by 1970s standards).

Typical (Balkan Style) house in Srbija (Well actually its in Bosnia, but they all look the same) :)

Krasnaya Zima, why are you bashing Russia in every thread? Is it some kind of sarcastic remarks that I am not getting? :D

Apparently, "the region" suffered more than ex-Yugoslav countries, as not only do Slovenia & Croatia today have higher salaries/quality of life than any other country in the region (Hungary, Romania, Bulgaria, etc) but the much suffering Bosnia, the NATO bombed Serbia and Macedonia where the last war happened in 2001 all beat out Bulgaria as well:eek:

Our politicians may be dumb, but they are also fricking MAGICIANS:yes:

^^ Zatim slozno zapevati „Mozes da nam pusis Klintoneeeee, oooo Klintoneeee...” :drunk:

KM is on crack again.

^^ +1

No, I love Russia, but after seeing so much of the rest of the world, I begin to think we are too underdeveloped.

Yes, dirty Jews right? That's the argument I hear the most and honestly when I hear I can't take it seriously for a single second. It's miserable people who have failed in their lives who need to blame it on someone so who's better target than Jews...
no they censure forum it is enough for using credibility.
