The Sign

This was the first proposal for Forus Business Arena, developed by Base Property (http://www.baseproperty.no/) in 2007. In 2009 they went ahead with Forus Business Arena, but
changed the design so this design went dead. But Base Property is still working on to realize this 18 floor tall building. SE Arkitekter AS (http://seark.no/) has designed
this mixed-use project which will be 32 000m2 in area.

The tower is designed with a crystallic shape surrounding an atrium. The idea is to open up the ground floor and atrium towards the natural
surroundings located to the west of the building, whilst accomodating the ground floor for various recreational services. The office areas have a
flexible floorplan solution, leaving room for working on teambased projects. There are several recrational zones within the building, and the 4th
floor opens up to a large roof garden and café.

The new location of the project is not known.

this is in my opinion the best proposal in our region. i really-really hope it will be approved!

btw - it kinda reminds me of the L-tower by libeskind in toronto... which also has a sculptural form, and a big hole carved in near the base.

Nice! This project is worth a Stavanger-trip in 2011 alone! Thank you for finding these renders!

You are now the official Stavanger updater here on N&B on a steady basis, and we expect you to do a good job of keeping us posted with fresh renders and construction pics!
A complete job description with payment terms will be sent to you by e-mail within 2 weeks.

Btw, isn't there any real names on this project? Forus business area is just "Forus næringspark" in English, and S7 just refers to the plot in the regulation plan, right?

The real name is "Forus Business Arena", which was updated like half a year ago. So i've changed the title, exept the main title, haven't bothered swede about it yet, but will do!

Here is some pictures of Forus Business Area

Those are the pics on Base-Property's homepage. There is a PDF document there, 3-4mb large which was published there same day it came out last year. Tried to download it then, but i could not open it, tried now, but still cannot open it. Did you make an attempt to download and open it?

Are you thinking of this site (http://www.baseproperty.no/Projects/ForusBusinessArena/tabid/83/Default.aspx)?

Yes, there used to be a pdf brochure avaliable on the side (under "Documents"), i see that they have taken it down, perhaps because is sent them a mail last week saying the pdf had an error hoping they would send me a working pdf, but never got any reply.

I do fear that this one has been replaced by two lowrise buildings on 4 and 5 floors. :( :(

^^It seems like it, yeah....:ohno:

The business mall will be located close to Sr-bank`s new 24 floor office building, the planned World Trade Centre and one of Norway’s most renowned golf courts.

Knowing what could've been, this is a tragedy:cry:

This is the worst news in our forum ever! Those visionless bastards just destroyed what was supposed to be our nations finest gathering of modern beautiful skyscrapers, 3 makes a skyline, 2 only makes.... Well, that's just 2 skyscrapers really... If we can't trust developpers to push skyscrapers in Forus, at this crucial intersection, can we expect them to push them anywhere? :bash: We can not allow them to build low-rise there, i will chain myself to the diggers

This is the worst news in our forum ever!

Then this should be the best news in our forum, ever!

Forus Business Arena reborn as "The Sign"
Forus Business Arena is been built as two 4 and 5 floor tall office buildings. That was sad news, since the first proposal of Forus Business Arena was an awesome 18 floor tall highrise located side by side with Føniks and WTC (two projects that probably won't be built either...) This design of Forus Business Arena has not been thrown away through. Base Property is working on to realize this project and call the project "The Sign". When? Unknown. Where? Unknown.

Lets just hope it actually gets built. :cheers1:

I changed the title status to "concept" as of now, since this is probably not an actual proposal yet.

Oh yes, even better if they put it in Moss harbour :)

Concepts are a dime a dozen. Still better than nothing, though (I guess).
