Maybe not so dead as it may seem:

Will we see this one go up next year?

I've not seen or read anything indicating this tower coming under construction anytime soon... or in the forseeable future.
One thing is of course the political handling of the proposal, another is the current market for hotels in Drammen. We got a new small hotel earlier this year, another is expanding, and a new hotel on Union Brygge will open early next year. All within a radius of around 300m from this planned hotel.

NO :gaah: I thought you would bring some good news about this project. So you don't believe in it?

Not really... But I would love to see it built. I would have perfect view when it reached the 6th or 7th floor. And I think it's about time for another (and nice looking) highrise in Drammen. The last one (Sykehuset Buskerud) was erected in 1980 and is far from particulary nice.

Is this the tower supposed to replace Globusgården? I would love to see a highrise built there, sort of the modern answer to Bragernes Church at the other end of the towns main axis.

No. The adress for this building would be Grønland 1. The plot is currently occupied by a parking lot and a home improvement store, Lothegården.
Globusgården should be made higher, like 20 stories. Then it would be beyond awesome:cheers:

Don't know about the height, but it was 28 stories as far as I remember.
