There is non, but the most used is Emporis standard which is 12 floors or 35m.

But we need to discuss this with this new section, are we going to post all projects over 12 floors or 35m? (meaning we will have a big number of threads here), or should we limit it to about 15 floors or 45m? As of now i have posted projects over 15 floors/45m. It would be best if we took all over 12 floors, but then i recommend we split this section into countries, so we don't have to handle 200 project threads in one section.

17floor commieblocks are a lot more boring than well-designed 12floor office buildings in centre.

I'd say let it depend on where the building is. If it's in one of the bigger cities with plenty of projects/towers then every 12fl ain't gonna be interesting enough for a thread of its own. But a 12fl in a tiny town could be worth it. It all depends...

Yes, exactly. Assuming that the threads will be made by more or less experienced forumers, I'm sure we will manage to make threads only for "interesting" projects.

As for multi-highrise projects as Barcode in Oslo, one single thread should probably be made. If Barcode end up with claiming 12+ threads, that would be pretty unnecessary, and the same with all other similar projects.

As for Latvia I propose to do seperate threads for Riga everything abouve 15fl (included) and Liepaya, Ventspils and Daugavpils everythig above 12fl.

15+ floorers for Riga is a question-mark. For example, I don't consider Metropolia highrise commies to be interesting enough to make a thread on them. Solaris is OK on other hand.

I'd suggest giving the abbreviated three-letter country version after the city and before the name of the project. True, we all know Vilnius is in Lithuanua and Oslo in Norway, but not all smaller size cities are necessarily that well known ... might as well identify them by country. :okay:

While we're at it discussing the general layout for subjects wouldn't it be a good idea to give the "key" to thread titles already in the title of the naming thread? I.e. instead of just calling the naming thread "+++ THREAD TITLES - PLEASE USE THE CORRECT FORMAT +++" it could be called:
"+++ THREAD TITLES - PLEASE USE: CITY | HEIGHT | FLOORS | STATUS +++"

I actually agree, because then we can add all high-rise buildings above 12 floors or 35m which would be the best. What we do now is to try to limit it to buildings taller than 15 floors and just add the most spectacular 12 floor tall high-rise buildings. And it gets much more organised than now (even though we have this thread).

So im with you, but if the majority wants it this way it stays this way.

And yes, where are all the Estonian high-rises? And where is Finland?!

Come on guys. The Moose height (http://www.skyscrapercity.com/showthread.php?t=555786) (45m) sets the line between highrises and lowrises. You can't build a building lower than a moose and call it highrise. It's impossible.

I have a suggestion. I think we should divide bigger cities like Stockholm into different regions. I mean... to say that a building will be built in Stockholm doesn't say much about the location. The highrises in Stockholm is spread out tens of kilometers from each other. I think we should have titles like:

Stockholm/Telefonplan
Stockholm/Kista
Stockholm/Liljeholmen
Stockholm/Hammarbyhamnen
Stockholm/Lindhagen

and so on...

Good idea. It will make the titles a bit long though. From the start we hoped that kind of information was added into the thread, not as the title. I think that would be easiest, to add its more detailed location on the top of the thread.

It seems to me, there's a lot of proposed Stockholmprojekts who really doesn't seem to go anywhere. Maybe one should concider only making threads about projekts that are either UC or, atleast, approved?...

We have a finnish high-rise/architecture forum called Talo-Forum. (taloforum.fi) Another site is www.pilvenpiirtaja.net. Finns talk about highrises in these sites.

Is there any interest of finnish high-rises in Skyscrapercity? Of course I could ad all finnish projects if it's necessary.

Yes, sry, havent had the time to adjust to the new system (we split N&B into country sections, this was the thread we used before that) yet for this thread.
