I will be relocating to the world famous Antelope Valley before X-Mas. Yes I know it's very suburban like and nothing alike Westchester (pedestrian friendly) area of the City....:nuts:

So my question is what is there to do out there in the AV? I've been there just a few times in my exciting life but not enough to know what's happening up there. So if you are a resident/visitor and know of some places to check and things to do out there please do inform. I know it gets frickin' hot and cold and there's like a super Walmart every 5 miles for some reason. :toilet:

It's not as bad as all that. There are lots of out door attractions, Vazquez Rocks, Devil's Punchbowl, the poppy preserve, several vineyards, Edwards AFB where the space shuttle sometimes lands, and the feline conservation center in Rosamund come to mind. Maybe this site can help you.

I have some cousins up there, but they're in Valencia and Sand Canyon, nowhere near Lancaster.

LOL j/k...Anyway, this chick must be pretty cool for you to abandon pedestrian-friendly Westchester for suburbia, no wait more like the dark-side of the moon! You'll be wayyyyy out there! Many people have mentioned that the Antelelope Valley's desert landscape is reminiscent to those on the moon. If that is the case, you are entering a truly alien world ,my friend...a no-man's land for many Angelenos. But we gotta give you props for bravery, Ferney! Yes, your intestinal fortitude is strong! You will be a pioneer going where no sane man has dare gone before!...Have faith that your legacy will be burned into the consciousness of all Angelenos and for eternity mentioned along with the Neil Armstrongs of the world...please bring your knowledge of urbanism you acquired from here at SSC and from living in Los Angeles most of your life to the Nimby's that lurk in the stucco caves, and cavernous cul-de-sacs of the Antelope Valley. Be forewarned, I hear they are a very aggressive species, so approach with caution and make sure you don't tread on their fabricated green lawns...they get really pissed off!
