So, I have noticed that a lot of forumers love to travel locally and have had their share of E. European travel. Share your experiences and tell us about the top places to visit, stay, eat, party etc. Please be as objective as possible.

To be honest I have not had the opportunity to discover the Balkan peninsula myself. Other than Bulgaria, I have stayed over in Prague for a night. Gorgeous and very well-kept city with a Gothic atmosphere.
I am planning (cross your fingers) a Greek island getaway in 2008 and hopefully Macedonia if I have enough time.

In 2006 it took me 1 month to get from Macedonia up to Denmark with a car, i stopped everywhere along the way. I took the Adriatik Highway it's a real beauty hard to keep your eyes on the road with the that scenery.

From Eastern Europe(Apart from Albania & Kosova) my fav places are:

Dubrovnik, Croatia
Budva, Montenegro
Ohrid, Macedonia
Budapest, Hungary
and I really wanna go to the Bulgarian Black Sea
