Tekniska Nämndhuset will be rebuilt by Wingårdh (http://www.wingardhs.se/php/flash.html). A 20 floor building is also proposed. It's located on Kungsholmen near Kungsbron about 500 m from the central train station.

Looks brown, boxy and ugly. Boxy can be okay enough, but when its brown and ugly then its off my table!

Wasn't there a rendering looking from the other side (i.e. Barnhusbron)?

EDIT: found that pic!

Can't find it on Wingårdh's site. But that doesn't mean it'a dead for certain. I really have no clue 'bout this one, but I'd still call it a low probability project. nice site for a highrise tho.

The only thing I've read recently is that it has been voiced by Epsteins STHLM that the new Tekniska nämndhuset should be moved to suburbia, like Skarpnäck, Tensta, Rinkeby, Hagsätra or Rågsved, rather than building a new one on Kungsholmen.
And the present Tekniska nämndhuset should be turned into a hotel, flats and offices!

This one is dead for certain, atleast in this form. Nämdhuset will be demolished as soon as they find a suitable place to relocate to.

Are you sure it'll be demolished? not just renovated into some other use? I'm asking because tearing down a building like this is extremely unusual in this town :(

Jag har för mig att jag läste att huset skulle byggas om till lägenheter.

I wouldnt bet my life on the fact that it will be demolished but i have a copule of friends working in the building and know for certain that the people who is handling the relocating process has doomed it close to impossible to renovate the building for continued use by the city. The reasond for this is the fact that the house is in really bad condition, poor constructions methods, poor materials, poor interior design means that it will be hard to renovate it to modern office standards and they havent put a penny more than nessecery into the maintenance the last couple of decades. All in all, it will be Extremly costly to do anything with the existing structure.

I shall se if I can digg up some moore information during the week.
