I have my doubts but the homesite (http://www.ssmfastigheter.se/skyskrapan.html) is still there and SSM (http://www.ssmfastigheter.se/) has a link and a picture of it in their main page of the website and they say that they want to start the construction 2008 and reach a construction end during 2010. It will be about 200m, have 67 floors, 350 apartments and cost about 700-800 million Swedish kronors according to SSM. They haven't decided the prices of the apartments yet. It's located at Telefonplan 3km south of Södermalm and about 6km south west of the central train station.

700-800 swedish crowns, what a bargain, build it at once! :) ;)

This is just a vision, it's not even proposed from what I have heard... :P

I haven't heard anything for a long while now either. It got that initial media-blitz, but that was it :(

I really like the design though and think Telefonplan could be a great place for a real scraper with the areas already in progress densification and urbanisation - and the proposed over-decking of the subway station and resulting further densification and urbanisation.

I'm getting the feeling SSM pulled an "Annehem" on us with this one.

I don't think this will be built. People don't like the design.

I think the design is really good, but the height will get the Nimbys to marsch all the way to city-council.

I agree, the design sucks, but great with the height, the location sucks too in my opinion...

I actually kinda like the design. Sleek, simple and the way the facade is more and more window-y the higher you get... works for me! :)

So is this a vision or a proposal? Because if visions gets up here as real proposals i know of a few other cool projects which should be mentioned in its own thread here. But thats wrong, so i won't mention them in this section.

Anyway, sleek and simple design, could actually look good, but not in sthml, so i won't cry out loud if it gets rejected, or just die.

It's a vision and a proposal. They don't employ Gerth Wingårdh for a pure fantasy project. How likely it is to get built is another issue. I don't think anybody here can be the judge of that.

It was dropped for a half year ago...

So our insider in the biz ;) says it has been killed? so be it :(

As usual nothing about this has been heard in the media. You'd think DN and others would boast about having killed another project (even if it wasn't really them).

Looks like Tell-us tower is still alive (or not yet dead) according to this article:
http://www.dn.se/DNet/jsp/polopoly.jsp?a=710632

A translated extract of the text: "We will probably see more landmarks getting built, one of these is the 200 metres tower at Telefonplan (Tell-us tower)".

So, I guess only time will TELL if we will see TELL-us tower completed :clown:

A member of the "Stockholm är inte Bullerbyn"-Facebook group poasted this, a reply he got from the developers behind Tell Us Tower:
Hej!

SSM presenterade sitt skyskrape-projekt “Tell Us Tower” våren 2006, och

många ledande tjänstemän i Stockholm Stad.

Bascially: they got plenty of attention at first and the reactions were mostly positive. But the planning/beurocracy surrounding the project got to much, so the proposal died after about 1½ years working on it.
Status: Canceled.

The good side of this is if they got positive feedback; others might be inspired to go high.

Sbk is just starting the detail planning process of an area near the subway station midsommarkransen wich contains something called "högt hus". So I think theres a decent chans that we will se something quite high in that neigborhood. Hopefully it will be a bit more inspiring than the Tell us tower...

Are you sure they want to build something around Midsommarkransens subway station. I think they rather will build something around Telefonplans station (next station on the red line)...

Misstake by me, you are absolutely right. It is of course near the subwaystation at telefonplan ther are planning to build.

I hope that with "högt hus" they don't mean 5-10 floors. That would be a joke. I want a real skyscraper there, god damn it!

Sorry if I got carried away there.

Cheers!

From the oldskool-est to the newest Stockholm forumer: välkommen till vår lilla hörna :)

Yes, there is definatly an anti-highrise vibe among many in Stockholm. Anti-new-buildings-in-a-residential-area too :\ Some of us like to call part of the problem "Klararivningstraumat". It's time to move on.

The death of TellUsTower didn't really surprise me. It sounded too good to be true right from the start. And previous deaths of visionary tall buildings here have made a cynic about these things.

Hej! I have heard about another building projekt there in telefonplan, from HSB construction, one residential building and it will be JUST 17 floor high! Just enough to see it from the motorway, yeah! We need some great landmark in the south part of the town, now! The venture in Kista is all right but i hope they don´t forget the south (söder om söder!)
