This forum has been shifting in a non-skyscraper direction lately, post THE tallest UNDER CONSTRUCTION (provide a picture of construction or a date when it commenced) skyscraper in your city or cities.

Please no "should start in X month" projects ;)

Everyone (at least most) now have separate sections or separate language threads and noone has time to go through everything to see what is being built there, especially since people also post projects of 3-story parking garages and installation of new portable bathrooms, so makes sense to have one thread for all biggest skyscrapers under construction.

Avaz to build another tower

http://seebiz.eu/files/img/2008/2/8/avaz1.jpg
SARAJEVO – The tower will be 123 meters high and several stories lower than Avaz Twist Tower. The construction will be financed with a loan.
The Avaz Management plans to finish the tower by the end of the year. In accordance with the company’s development strategy, the Avaz Management accepted the project of architect Faruk Kapidžić. Of three Avaz’s buildings, he has designed two. The tower is going to be located within the existing complex.

According to Kapidžić’s idea, the tower is going to be 123 meters high and several stories lower than Avaz Twist Tower. The new tower reminds of female figure with a crown on her head. At the top of the crown a restaurant and a heliport will be built.

The Avaz Management expects to finish the project and legal procedure for obtaining a zoning and building permit. Avaz is going to finance the project with a loan from commercial banks.

Well, I don't know if it's "no technologies". But the main argument is fire safety and people's inability to get their heads out of the 1970s about 5 story buildings. Newspapers are publishing all this crap about how it's unsafe to live "higher than 20 floors". Ecologists, environmentalists, and other pussies keep on picketing against high-rise construction.

Tall buildings give you dick cancer!:shifty:

Many people in Romania look at skyscrapers like they are some kind of steel, concrete and glass devils. I know people that always complain about how they are bad for the city each time a new one springs up.:ohno:

Delta is not building the Avaz building, they only bought the shopping part of the tower!

A Bosnian company is building the ATT:

I wouldn't give a hoot. Russian companies in Ukraine are building 40+ story towers, and that's just fine with me. Besides, we don't have the technology to build over 35 floors or something.

We already have 37 floorers.

Serbia's Delta is building it in partnership with the Sarajevo newspaper .:)

What planet do you live on.. No Delta is not building anything in SA.. They are business partners with the Bosnian company building the towers and they will get a lower floor for their shopping center.. but Delta is not financing or building this project.. stop imagining things.. That magazine front you posted has nothing to do with the towers but instead the battle over the energy sector.. why do you have to make stuff up, Im sure Belgrade will get some skyscrapers in the near future..

Actually, Belgrade in 70'ies was very opened for building in the sky, but many skyscraper projects in Belgrade from 70ies were never finished, because of the financial problems, as well as many other projects, which is totally understandable if we look at fund of construction aproved in period of 20 golden years of ex YU, and its quality, and if the city grown for about 5 times from WWII till today. ^^ Its sad that todays city "planers" doesnt have any vision, they just try not to turn on their brains, or they are corrupted, or they use both skills...
