The hotel, which has yet to announce an opening date, will be using a LED (light emitting diode) lighting system, energy efficient air conditioning system, and elevators that require less energy than most being used.

"The hotel will be an actual application of what a sustainable facility is supposed to be," Tence said.

Also, the hotel will be utilizing locally sourced products, from the construction materials and the furnishings to be used, as part of its commitment to have a smaller carbon footprint.

The hotel will house 200 suites, eight function areas, two restaurants, a fitness center with pool, and a spa.

Pinnacle Place is part of the Central Parq Group of Hotels and was designed by Architect Mark Maximo Chan while interiors were made by Don Cabaog and his team Design Lab.

it looks shorter than that because of it's pyramid roofing. IMO, highrise should be around 16 storeys up to look taller ang make an impact to the skyline. but because we are counting the floors not the height, so 12 storeys it is for this hotel.

That's true, 12 floors is actually considered as low to mid and not highrise. With regard to Novotel, that is a jaw dropping project for a city such as CDO. Congrats to CDO and Im happy for them. But then again, that's another thread..ehehehehe so moving back to the topic...

The Marco Polo Hotel Davao is taller than Landco. Pryce Tower is third with 15 floor levels..

It looks massive and almost finish. I think they built it reasonably fast. It wasn't so long ago that they started building it I think it was back in 2008.

it's 9 imo ang elevate part lang katung Casino if you notice murag makita nimo "basement" sa hotel bldg. when looking sa taas na part sa Casino. taas ang Casino because elevated na ang road sa JP Laurel when the Casino bldg. was built.

Therefore its time we move on to the next project.... 12 storey Sheraton Hotel is U/C right now and ABREEZA hotel is about to start constructing na rin.... we guyz still got something to talk about for at least another year. KAnang solid construction jud bah.

The hotel is indeed very nice; however, the site of the building is not so (just an observation). Other than that, I'm happy that this project is now complete. It's a testament of the growing confidence of the investors in the city and its potential as a tourism hub in Mindanao.

'Green' hotel to rise in Davao

DUBBED to be the first high-rise structure in Mindanao which has implemented environmentally-sound structure design and interiors, a “green” hotel is soon to rise in Davao City.

Named as Pinnacle Place, the 12-storey structure on Sta. Ana Avenue was designed in such manner that it utilizes natural light and allows cross ventilation on each floor.

"Going green is cheaper in the long run, it is very practical, and you have less impact on the environment," Arnold Tence, the upcoming general manager of Pinnacle Place, told Sun.Star Davao.

The hotel, which has yet to announce an opening date, will be using a LED (light emitting diode) lighting system, energy efficient air conditioning system, and elevators that require less energy than most being used.

"The hotel will be an actual application of what a sustainable facility is supposed to be," Tence said.

Also, the hotel will be utilizing locally sourced products, from the construction materials and the furnishings to be used, as part of its commitment to have a smaller carbon footprint.

The hotel will house 200 suites, eight function areas, two restaurants, a fitness center with pool, and a spa.

Pinnacle Place is part of the Central Parq Group of Hotels and was designed by Architect Mark Maximo Chan while interiors were made by Don Cabaog and his team Design Lab.

I agree... but as long as the hotel is already there it is eminent that there will be an effect in the surroundings...... so those houses with rusty roofs as well as those unappealing buildings in front will be gone sooner or later.

I'm sure some small businesses will be sprouting in that area to cater the needs of the dollar/peso rich tourists. BTW.... I like the hotel's exterior design.... it's like a stout building with pointy hat.... cool.

yes, murag mas dako ang naa didto ug mas gwapo compare sa naa didto sa san pedro houses, gwapo kung office building ang himuon sa area or coffee shop lang kay duol sa sutherland. unta lang ayaw pamutla tong mga puno, additional ambiance lang.
