I just read it today in Investor Daily, that Landmarks is going to make Bintan as an Exclusive Integrated Tourism Zone ( EITS) . They plan to invest USD 1,7 Bil in Bintan.

This is an old news, i couldn't find the news on the net...

Soon there will be more options for gaming in the region, with Malaysia-based Landmarks developing an integrated project with casino on the Indonesian island of Bintan, less than an hour's ferry ride from Singapore.

Landmarks is 30.3-per-cent owned by Genting, which is also developing the integrated resort with casino on Sentosa, expected to open for business in 2010, a year after the Marina Bay Sands. Genting officials declined to comment on the Landmarks development.

In its statement to the Malaysian stock exchange, Landmarks said that its subsidiary, Bintan Treasure Bay, had signed an agreement for the zoning of its site for gaming, medical tourism and technology hosting. Buoyed by the news of the agreement, Landmark shares rose 22 sen ($0.10), or 7.4 per cent, to RM3.18 on Bursa Malaysia yesterday, valuing the property group at slightly over RM1.5 billion.

Landmarks said the zoning and collaboration with a company incorporated in Indonesia "will greatly enhance the development potential of Treasure Bay, Bintan, as a leading tourism destination in the region." Landmarks had been in talks with the island's authorities to legalise gambling. It is estimated that the gaming industry could raise the island's annual income tenfold to US$132 million ($187.7 million).

Located in the Lagoi area of the island, the Bintan Treasure Bay site occupies 342 hectares. Jangankan orang luar negeri, orang Indonesia pun banyak yang kagak tau pulau Bintan. Udah lama tidak pulang, moga2 taon ini bisa pulang. Nyokap gw tinggal di Tanjungpinang (kota administratif Kepulauan Riau, mungkin 25 km dari project Treasure Bay dan Lagooi), kalo gw bilang ama orang di pulau Jawa pada nanya Tanjungpinang mana sih, apa dekat Pangkal Pinang?

Barangkali kita emang kurang promosi ya! Thanks ya AceN udah mensosialisasikannya. Tapi memang kalau nggak ada project2 di atas, barangkali pulau Bintan yang tidak ada bedanya dengan pulau2 lain di Indonesia. Lokasinya yang berdekatan dengan Singapore itulah yang telah mengubah nasibnya.

Sol Ellite Bintan (ntah masih ada apa gak kurang tahu) , Banyan Tree, MANA-MANA.... ClubMed-Ria Bintan ..

Pengelolaannya, itu ditangani ama orang Singapore. Kalau ke sana, isinya bule semua. Promonya dari arah Singapore semua. Turis masuknya dari Singapore semua. Pembayaran bisa dilakukan dengan SGD.

New Bintan Island resort gets millions

PT Bintan Resort Cakrawala, an integrated resort developer, over the weekend launched a new 1,300 hectare resort development site on Bintan Island, already attracting US$32.99 million in transactions from a host of investors and partners.

Bintan Resort Cakrawala has sold up to 300 hectares of land on the site to 12 investors, including Sahid Group, Alila Hotel, Ayako Corporation Pte Ltd and Polo retail.

Named Lagoi Bay, the site will feature international standard resorts, residences, shopping outlets, restaurants, entertainment venues and water sport facilities.

"We will develop Lagoi Bay to become a world-class resort," said Bintan Resort vice president director Chin Chow Yoon.

He said the company had developed access for transportation from the site to the main road in Lagoi, as well as telecommunications, water and electricity.

"Sahid is allocating around 10 hectares of land in Lagoi Bay for its resort development," he said.

President director of the Sahid Group, Yanti Sukamdani, said the group considered Lagoi and Bintan as a whole ideally situated for attracting foreign tourists, especially from Singapore.

"Bintan offers nature tourism which Singapore doesn't have," Yanti said.

"Tourists in Singapore usually spend three days on average to explore the country. They might want to spend more days on different tourism attractions in nearby countries, such as (Indonesia's) Bintan."

More than 10 million foreign tourists visit Singapore every year, as compared to 320,000 foreign tourist arrivals in Bintan.

Regent of Bintan, Anshar Ahmad, said around 70 percent of Bintan Island's revenue, or around Rp 60 billion ($6.48 million) per year, come from the Lagoi tourism area.

"With further development within the Lagoi area, the local administrator of Bintan is expecting to receive Rp 30 billion more per year," Anshar said. (rff)

Phase One

Phase 1 of Treasure Bay has begun with site works initiated in late 2010. The phase is divided into 3 precincts, namely The Northern Precinct, The Central Precinct and The Southern Precinct. With a coverage of approximately 90 ha, the phase is marketed as Breathe-Amaze-Play, where each of the precincts provide an experience distinct from one another but yet achieve a common link as being part of a premier destination.

he Phase will introduce South East Asia’s largest clear water lagoon, known as Crystal Lagoons. The lagoons retain sea-water that has been specially filtered to create a spectacularly clear water body with its deepest point a 3 meters with a clarity range of 10 meters. Special membrane and other features make the lagoon safe for water sports for people of all ages.

Northern Precinct (32 hectares)
The higher terrain of this area overlooks the bay and is a natural site for high-end resorts and residences. Towards the south is a beach area.

Central Precinct (28.5 hectares)
The centre-piece of Treasure Bay is a waterfront 259-key luxury resort nestled within a large body of crystal clear water, known as The Ring.

The Ring is an architectural wonder where rooms are designed as cubes connected and laid out over a 500-meter circumference. The rooms are perched 20 meters up from the ground which is a clear water body. Spas, specialty F&B and a wedding venue make up some features of The Ring.

Bener gan, kalo bisa pulau Bintan disulap jadi pulau Bali kedua. Dengan banyak resort kelas dunia, wisata atraktif, dan tentu saja infrastruktur yang memadai. Terlebih lagi pulau Bintan sangat strategis untuk pariwisata karena dekat dengan Singapura. Selain itu, Wisata alam dan juga budaya seperti pulau Penyengat juga perlu dimanfaatkan maksimal.

Mungkin Treasure Bay Bintan ini bisa jadi pilot project Bintan menuju wisata kelas dunia seperti kakaknya, pulau Bali.

^^ agak susah bro... secara mayoritas forumers KEPRI itu di Batam, males aja hunting2 poto ke Bintara, kecuali emang pas liburan ke sana. sementara cuma bisa mengandalkan publikasi di media2, walopun proyek ini jarang di expose... pokoknya kalo ud ada perkembangan lebih lanjut, kita2 pasti update kok ... :cheers:

TRIBUNNEWSBATAM, BINTAN - Sejak diresmikan Presiden Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono (SBY) awal tahun 2011 lalu, mega proyek Treasure Bay, atau pembangunan Kawasan Wisata Terpadu yang diberi nama Pesona Lagoi Bintan hampir tak pernah terdengar.

Namun kali ini, Landmark Berhad selaku main developer (pengembang utama) memastikan, fase 1 siap dikerjakan tahun ini.

Kepala Bidang Operasional proyek Treasure Bay, Paul Leong mengungkapkan, jika pengerjaan Laguna Kristal/Crystal Lagoon pada tahap awal sudah dilakukan dengan cara menjernihkan air laut di sekitar penginapan, mall dan sebagainya yang dirancang di atasnya sudah dilaksanakan.

Paul juga menjelaskan luas kawasan Laguna Kristal ini lebih kurang 6 hektare, dan nantinya akan menggunakan teknologi dari Amerika Serikat dalam proses pembangunannya.

"Laguna Kristal akan siap awal tahun 2013. Ini adalah satu dari bagian utama untuk fase awal dengan luas 90 hektare. Pengerjaan lahan sudah dimulai tahun 2012," ungkap Paul.

Namun bagaimana teknis menjernihkan air laut, Paul mengatakan hal tersebut menjadi rahasia perusahaan. "Teknologinya dari Amerika Selatan, cara menjernihkannya saya rasa itu rahasia," sebut Paul sambil tersenyum.

Banyak pertanyaan sebelumnya yang muncul dari pembangunan Treasure Bay yang adem ayem, setelah sempat digadang-gadang saat kedatangan SBY tahun lalu.

Namun Paul memastikan pihaknya tetap jalan selama ini, aktivitas pembangunan tersebut akan terlihat pada pembukaan resort pertama dengan 2.000 kamar, sekitar 18 bulan ke depan.

"Fase pertama terdiri dari tiga lokasi pembangunan, dimana bagian selatan yang akan dibangun pertama. Hal ini menimbang karena kedekatan dengan terminal ferry di Lagoi. Kami sengaja merancang agar ada daya tarik pengunjung ke kawasan strategis ini," tambahnya.

Paul menambahkan, bahwa pihaknya cukup senang bekerja dengan banyak investor dan rekanan potensial.

"Hari ini kami melakukan MoU investasi dalam pembanguan kerjasama (konsorsium) ini," ungkapnya.

Treasure Bay menurutnya juga akan membangun satu hotel bintang lima dengan kapasitas 180 kamar yang dijadwalkan rampung pada akhir 2014.

Kawasan ini ditargetkan menjadi kawasan wisata terkemuka di Asia Tenggara dengan model Crystal Lagoon tersebut.
