Why SSC has only 2 language version when major amount of users comes from e.g Asia or non-English spoken European countries? Other international forums have often many more langyage versions than two.

View Full Version : Why forum language is only English and Spanish? Mindcrasher December 20th, 2007, 01:11 PM Why SSC has only 2 language version when major amount of users comes from e.g Asia or non-English spoken European countries? LMCA1990 December 20th, 2007, 03:45 PM I figure it's not easy translate it into so many languages Insanedriver December 22nd, 2007, 05:55 PM we speak our own language in our local forum erbse December 23rd, 2007, 09:59 PM I don't get the issue. Xelebes December 23rd, 2007, 10:24 PM The Spanish translation is currently a pilot project. FIDEL CASTRO December 27th, 2007, 05:12 AM we speak our own language in our local forum I don't think he meant that. Just scroll down your screen to the bottom left and you are going to see a box saying English (US). The other option is Spanish 3.6.55. If you change it to Spanish then you'll see how the entire site changes to Spanish. Insanedriver December 27th, 2007, 01:20 PM oh ok i got what he meant lol Jan December 27th, 2007, 01:53 PM I'll ask DaiTengu to see of there is a technical problem adding more language packs. DaiTengu December 27th, 2007, 03:56 PM When we installed the Spanish language pack, it mucked some things up for the English Language. I have since decided against installing other language packs, as it's just too much of a headache to keep them all straight. Qatar Son 333 December 30th, 2007, 02:04 PM ^^ cant you get more people to help you ?! DaiTengu December 31st, 2007, 12:12 AM ^^ cant you get more people to help you ?! Help has nothing to do with it. When you install a language pack, and it changes some of the primary languages phrases (Hint: there are thousands of phrases) to the new language, it's a pain to try and go through them and change them back. Especially when you don't know the language, and you really have no idea what the original phrase was. Herr Lind December 31st, 2007, 12:40 AM If you'll add some other languages, dont forget to add russian, please :) FREKI December 31st, 2007, 01:04 AM If a person are skilled enough in English to join SSC - then what's the problem with an English vBulletin version :dunno: With most ( in my case 99,98% ) of the conversations around here being in English people looking for other languages mainly, may be better off in other places :| especially with such minor details as the vBulletin thing... or atleast that's my opinion on the subject.. If a person doesn't like or speak English the person should stay clear of .com sites! |
