macpolo December 21st, 2007, 11:16 PM 斥资40亿洪崖洞打算建解放碑第一高楼
http://news.idoican.com.cn/cqshangb/res/1/4891/2007-12/13/025/res01_attpic_brief.jpg
fettekatz December 21st, 2007, 11:55 PM interesting project, Chongqing already has a incredible density
PwnedByASkyscraper December 22nd, 2007, 03:23 AM Chongqing has sooooo many supertall proposals. I'd like to see what it's like a decade down the road....
Shalina December 25th, 2007, 08:28 PM But.....what is it???? A comercial Centre.....a....homes building???
What is it'???? If you know it, tell me ;) hehe
BarbaricManchurian December 25th, 2007, 10:17 PM Phase 1 is restaurants in buildings built in the traditional Chinese style...honestly, I don't like it because the "traditional" buildings are new and the architecture looks so fake.
big-dog December 25th, 2007, 10:27 PM imo Hongyadong is one of the most crazy and amazing place in CQ, When will the phase II be finished?
macpolo December 28th, 2007, 02:15 AM in 4 years
TU 'cane December 28th, 2007, 04:13 AM very cool project.
Kailyas February 19th, 2008, 05:19 AM very tall and nice and stand tall among other buildings. Great!
xXFallenXx February 19th, 2008, 05:48 AM Why do you keep bumping threads?
honestly, every time you do, a little part of me dies.
Densetsu February 19th, 2008, 07:44 AM nice desihn but it looks like the mixture of empire states building in NY and greenland plaza in nanjing. but anyway thats pretty cool :okay:
davee08 February 19th, 2008, 03:13 PM i honestly thought this was getting built at the moment but no, someone had to start up the thread again without updates
Jhun February 20th, 2008, 11:02 PM i honestly thought this was getting built at the moment but no, someone had to start up the thread again without updates
that's what CQ people do, man, they trick us:banana:.
My CQ friends, it's not that I can get over with U guys, but U guys need to update all the gdmn proposals. Plus, CQ is one of my favorite in the World, but there seems never have any light at the night, the skyline just dead at night compare to BeiJing ,SH, or HK. so, Power-Saving? or just CQ people go to bed really early?
z0rg April 2nd, 2008, 05:04 PM Another version. I don't know which one is the final project...

ElVoltageDR April 2nd, 2008, 07:56 PM I hope it's one of the first two. That one looks a bit too bulky for the area, just doesn't look right.

There're around 8 supertalls planned in the background. Some of them are above 400m. It wont look out of place, dont worry.
ElVoltageDR April 2nd, 2008, 11:40 PM Not in that way. It's just that this one seems bulkier than the other two and I'm not sure if the bulkiness fits in. Of course it's just a rendering it could look completely different in real life.

z0rg August 21st, 2008, 06:03 PM wow..around 8 supertall in Chongqing?? ask u...., Sun Valley have u/c in Chongqing??
Sun Valley monster plot is being cleared now :D
Chongqing is planning no less than 15 supertalls, more will probably come.
1- Jiangbei New City CBD A13 plot: 500m, still no actual design.
2- Sun Valley: 450m+, 100 floors, Other sources claim 80 floors, and some renders show a tacky 320~, 70~ fl project. We'll see...
3- Chongqing Tiandi/Jialing Fanying: 443m, 102 floors. Plot being cleared.
4- Chongqing IFC (formerly Marriott Center): 431m, 102 floors. U/C again.
5- ASE Center (formerly Century Star Plaza): 428m, 88 floors. Final height could be taller.
6- Jiangbei New City CBD A07 plot: 380m, still no actual design.
7- Jiangbei New City CBD A11 plot: 360m, still no actual design.
8- Financial Street Project: 350m, 81 floors officially. Thanks to the spire likely to be 400m+, but the design isn't final anyway. Plot being cleared.
9- Hongyadong Phase 2: 350m+, 78 floors. Thanks to the spire it is likely to be 400m+ too. Plot being cleared.
10- Global Financial Building: 331m, 79 floors. They could change the design, C.Y. Lee proposal seems 400m~ thanks to the spire. Plot being cleared.
11- Yingli Tower: 320m, 72 floors. Plot being cleared.
12- Yuzhou Hotel Rebuilt: 308m, 76 floors. Old project, new version to come. Might be taller or shorter, who knows.
13- Chongqing Moi City: 300m+, 70+ floors. Huge spire, probably around 340m. Still no final design.
14- Newport International Towers: 300m+, 73~ floors. Not much info by the moment.
15- Danzishi Area Supertall: 300m+. Still concept design for a coming skyscraper area.
Fewer chances, but still possible supertalls:
16- ICBC Project: Some designs are 70+ floors, but the proposal likely to be final is just 50+ floor twins.
17- Poly Tower: 290m, 60 floors. Foundation works finished. Some websites claim it has been changed to 300m, but we are not sure if it is real.
17- West Asia Hotel: 297m, 70 floors. Design isn't final.
18- ASE Center 2: 293m, 61 floors. Height might not be final or might not include the crown.
19- KPF Financial Street 2: In some renders the spire seems clearly above 300m. Anyway the render is very conceptual by the moment.
There are another 4 or 5 projects above 65 floors whose final designs or heights haven't been released. They only have a very few possibilities, but it is Chongqing, so who knows :D
ZZ-II August 21st, 2008, 09:38 PM that city is so cazy, almost like Dubai
CarlosBlueDragon August 22nd, 2008, 07:40 AM that city is so cazy, almost like Dubai

Chongqing vs Dubai..!! who will won? :D
CarlosBlueDragon August 22nd, 2008, 07:43 AM wow..
15supertalls!! :uh:
Chongqing so many supertalls than Shanghai so poor supertalls?? :ohno:
z0rg August 28th, 2008, 02:35 AM Google earth poster showing all main projects in the city center including Hongyadong Phase 2. The image doesn't include some supertalls too far away from the center like Jialing Fanying (443m), Dadukou Twin Towers (2x385m), etc.

SilentStrike January 11th, 2009, 12:07 AM if they make a 2nd, better render of that tower, it'll mean its most likely to be chosen :) that one looks best imo.
vfG January 14th, 2009, 09:51 AM One of the most inovative project in China, sooo Babylonesque !!! I love it and i think i Love Chongqing style !!! For me this is one of the most interesting city of the world !!!
the spliff fairy April 19th, 2009, 02:00 PM gorgeous
Scion April 20th, 2009, 12:26 AM wow..
15supertalls!! :uh:
Chongqing so many supertalls than Shanghai so poor supertalls?? :ohno:
Shanghai is located on a huge plain --> plenty of room for spreading out --> less incentives to build tall
Chongqing is mountainous --> little developable land --> incentives to go up
skyperu34 May 2nd, 2009, 02:47 AM Nice design, but spire doesnt fit there...
Nozumi 300 May 2nd, 2009, 05:21 PM I like the spire. I think the point of the spire is to blend together modern and tradition architecture. If you look at Chinese pagodas the spires are almost the same as the one that is found on this building. Also Hongyadong is mainly composed of traditional style architecture so that maybe the reason this tower had a traditional spire.
On a side note, some people may think Hongyadong sounds/looks Korean is due to the "gya" and "dong" part.
Nozumi 300 January 23rd, 2010, 05:18 PM I'm sorry for bring this old thread back, but it seems that there hasn't been any news or info lately whether this has begun construction or whether it's cancelled.
ganghui March 27th, 2012, 08:35 AM Any news or is it cancelled? Replaced?
